October 28, 201015 yr Hey, I didn't mention my double bed... .. a student with a double bed? Vairry eenterresting!
October 28, 201015 yr By an amazing coincidence I'm going to the Leicester 02 Academy in 2 hours time, to see one of my favourite bands, who I've seen loads of times - Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. Absolutely brilliant live, and pretty good on record too!
October 28, 201015 yr Well, that was a first. A campus-wide power-cut at Leicester Uni turned the Southside gig into an acoustic show in the dark. The band rose to the occasion for about 8 songs, leaving the stage to play among the audience which was great, till the show was stopped and we were offered a refund. Bummer.

Kudos to the band for trying to go on with the show.

Absolutely brilliant live, and pretty good on record too! I saw them at Knebworth in 1854, supporting Zeppelin - they were amazing then, and were probably only in their late fifties at the time! Seriously, they were almost as good as Zep, and much better than Ronnie Arse's "Supergroup"
October 29, 201015 yr The Leicester O2 Academy is part of Leicester uni and is about five minutes from my house if you need a sofa to crash on. Cheers Plock, but my grandparents live pretty close in Loughborough, I'm sure I can crash at theirs :)
October 29, 201015 yr Cheers Plock, but my grandparents live pretty close in Loughborough, I'm sure I can crash at theirs :) You have a choice between Plockers and Granma and you choose Granma??? I'm impressed!!
October 29, 201015 yr Going to see Girl Talk here in a couple weeks, should be fun. Kinda mad, found out that LCD Soundsystem was within 5 hours from me last weekend and I could've gone, would've been amazing.
October 31, 201015 yr "The Army"!!!!!!!! saw it yesterday! AWESOME!!! Edited October 31, 201015 yr by Mikstaw
October 31, 201015 yr Going to see Girl Talk here in a couple weeks, should be fun. Kinda mad, found out that LCD Soundsystem was within 5 hours from me last weekend and I could've gone, would've been amazing. I seriously envy you. Feed The Animals was a work of pure genius on a scale which gave me a nosebleed and made me jump around dancing... no, that isn't over the top. Let me know whether he's as good live as I'd hope.
November 2, 201015 yr Just came back from the Gaslight Anthem gig and I gotta say I was pretty disappointed. Part of it was due to some dodgy mixing, some of it was because I was very tired as I went to the club straight after a hard day's work and mostly because they weren't very good. They weren't absolute rubbish, but there weren't too many highlights either. Oh well, at least the ticket didn't cost very much.
November 6, 201015 yr Saw Porcupine Tree at the Royal Albert Hall 2 weeks ago who were superb. Next gig IQ at the O2 Islington...best prog rock band of the last 20 years!!
November 16, 201015 yr Off to see The Gaslight Anthem right this instant. Hope they're better than Maks' experience!
November 16, 201015 yr Off to see The Gaslight Anthem right this instant. Hope they're better than Maks' experience! Where do you impoverished students get the money to go to all these gigs? When BlueBeard and I were young we had to make do with singsongs round the joanna!
November 16, 201015 yr Squeeze on Thursday night in Cardiff. Supported by the Lightning Seeds, but I'm not a fan of them.
November 17, 201015 yr Just got back, and I have to say, it was absolutely incredible. I've seen quite a few gigs now and I have to say that's topped the whole lot of them, even Green Day who were sensational. TGA know exactly how to make a gig amazing, they have a sort of swagger about them now because they know they're good (but in a good way). God, I love them. Biffy Clyro next!!
November 17, 201015 yr TGA know exactly how to make a gig amazing I must have seen a different Gaslight Anthem. They were quite mediocre when they were here in Finland. It's sad when one of the (few) highlights of the night is the song that was played when they walked on stage to start the show("Straight to Hell" by The Clash). I'm expecting much more from The Soundtrack of Our Lives next month. Their 2001 gig in Tampere is still one of the best gigs I've ever seen. Now THAT was a proper rock show. It's a shame, because I was really looking forward to seeing TGA, but what can you do...?
November 17, 201015 yr I missed Gaslight here in Gbg due to other commitments and was quite pissed off, but hearing Maks say they were mediocre makes me feel a bit better. Anyways, caught Midlake/John Grant last night not too bad although the hall they played hasn't got the best acoustics in the world, which is a must for this type of band, on the whole it must be said JG stood out. Imogen Heap on Saturday, which I'm really looking forward to.
November 17, 201015 yr I got a few tickets for Foo Fighters at Milton Keynes spare if anyone is interested? Biffy Clyro, Jimmy Eat World and Death cab for cutie Supporting acts Message me if you're interested :)
November 18, 201015 yr Cheers for the feedback Mad Mac. Glad you like it. I've just got back from watching them. Great gig, Monday morning hangover on the horizon. By the way most of the band are either side of 30(or a bit more), but the front man is only 22. quality band and zeberdy rays are awsome as well must be the malvern water eh mr vranch lol
