Again The Sun out with some groundbreaking stuff :laugh2:

MANCHESTER CITY are lining up a £20million bid for Didier Drogba.

City boss Roberto Mancini is a long-term admirer of the Chelsea striker.

The Ivory Coast star, 32, has not ruled out a move and a source said: "Chelsea will have to decide whether they want him to stay. City's offer will be tempting considering Didier's age."

Drogba would earn over £18m in three years if he chose to move to Eastlands.

The striker won the Golden Boot with 29 Premier League goals last term as Chelsea stormed to the title and FA Cup.

Drogba still has two years to run on his Stamford Bridge deal.

But if he was to leave the champions, Chelsea would be sure to make a move for Liverpool hitman Fernando Torres.

City have already lashed out £60m this summer on David Silva, Jerome Boateng and Yaya Toure.

Boss Mancini also wants Lazio full-back Aleksander Kolarov - though the Serb may prove too expensive.

Lazio president Claudio Lotito said: "In my opinion, he is worth as much as Mauro Zarate, who we paid around £18.7m for."

LoL @ 20 mil

He might be near the end of his career, but he is still the most effective striker in the England (and for my money theworld).....and did so while playing through hernia problems so obviously not injury prone!

The type of striker who can elevate a team significantly by himself....and after one of his best seasons yet too! hahahha

Jesus we'd be mad to turn down an offer like that for a 32 year old but i'd be surprised if he left , even more surprised if we let him go , especially to one of our biggest rivals.

WONT HAPPEN.

He's the type of player you just dont sell if you want to win trophies as how do you replace him with someone better?!?!?!? You cant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, unless its a ridiculous fee...then you might consider if you feel your squad is strong enough to cope!

Now 20mil plus Adam Johnson or Tevez might be something to whet the appetite a bit more

Barry , it says a whole lot about his ability dosent it if there prepared to offer that kind of money . Drogba wants to win the C.L. with us , ive absolutely no doubt about that and i think this season he is even more determined especially as the clock is ticking , lets face , he knows he wont even be in the competition with City so lets laugh out loud at that stupid City idea.

Even though this is totally untrue, I can't imagine losing Drogba. For most 32 year olds 20 million would be a steal, but it would take a LOT of money for me to be willing to sell him. I love the guy and want nothing else than for him to finish his career with us.

At the same token, City have the money to go after anyone. Why would they wnt to spend so much on a 32 year old that they don't need to reach their goal for next season, which is realistically to qualify for the Champions League. if City is looking to win the Champions League Drogba would probably be 34 or 35 at the youngest before they're in a position to make a serious run. I can't imagine Drogba would want to move to a team not in the Champions League at this stage of his career either. I doubt Chelsea have any real interest in selling him. I don't really see how this makes much sense.

If they offered that for Anelka...snap their hands off....

For Drogba, they're dreaming...he and Lampard are our most indispensible players...and I suppose Terry...because he's Mr Chelsea

No one is prepared to offer big bucks for Drogba as he is 32 and injury prone. We would be insane to sell him. Chelsea is the only sane place for him. If he doesn't finish with us he will go back to Marseille but not for at least 2 seasons.

lolol

There is no chance Drogs or Chelsea would entertain that.

Dirty greasy jokers up at Eastlands. Having a laugh!

£20million? That has to be a joke surely?

A 27 year old crock is priced at £50million at least, and then a 32 year old one of, if not the, best striker in the world at £20million? Ha.

As if we'd sell the best centre forward on the planet...

Could do but don't reckon he would go to City .

IF we got £55 million from Real Madrid for Cole and Drogba and got Torres for £50 million wouldn't be a bad bit of work in my book .......... but it is all pie in the sky rubbish . I would be very surprised if we ever did any business with Real Madrid again after robinho ......

If we swapped the best left-back and the best centre forward on the planet for Torres and £5m I think I'd cry myself to sleep every night.

Drogba may be 32, but also started playing at this level later than other players normally do. Makes me think that the sport hasn't taken as much of a toll on his body as is typical for a 32-year-old striker, and that he has quite a few good years left in him.

We'd be mad to sell him, especially to a team in England.

You have got to be kidding, losing the best left back in world football and one of the top strikers and getting Torres in return would be a massive backwards step.

I agree, they're literally bidding for anyone and everyone. Everyone is saying that because of all the talent they'll be a force to be reckoned with next season, whereas I disagree. By September 1st, they'd undoubtedly have signed a massive number of players, a vast majority of them would be guaranteed starters at where they were originally. Meaning they'll have to keep rotating and rotating to keep everyone happy, which just won't work. Have a big squad by all means, but don't fill it with 22 players who expect to start week in week out, for goodness sake.
