Gem Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Part 1 of 3 of my picture dedication to three special players who have left us this season. Please feel free to add more :) Plus, a few of the great goals he has scored for us: And erm... ahem :D
BlueNose Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Belletti, great guy and very underrated, was sad to see him go and wish him well, thanks Juliano
Benji Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Great post Gem. He done us proud when he was here, a great footballer.
Ballack & Blu Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Some of the cleanest striking of a ball winessed by the club, awsome technique with great power,by a vastly under rated player,a true Brazillian with unpredictable brilliance.
Barry Bridges Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Probably never received the dues he deserved while with us but shall go down as a great servant and a collector of trophies while with us!
PloKoon13 Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 This is a great montage. I always loved Belletti and it's nice to see him appreciated. If you're doing threads for Ballack and Joe Cole as well, I don't suppose you'd consider a little nod for Sam Hutchinson too?
Gem Posted August 26, 2010 Author Posted August 26, 2010 Joe... who? The next instalments are for Ballack & Ricky. I'll do one for Sam too :)
PloKoon13 Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Oh crap! It still hasn't sunk in that Riccy left so I forgot to mention him. :( Looking forward to the other threads :)
BLUENUT Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Oh crap! It still hasn't sunk in that Riccy left so I forgot to mention him. :( Looking forward to the other threads :) Top player who always performed when called upon. Will be fondly missed by the MH stand who had great affection for him, and often sung his name while warming up, or calling for him to be introduced. also the fella who cried ''SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT'' whenever he picked up the ball, even on his own goal-line :D
kalpitv Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 One of the most versatile players we've seen in recent times. I've always seen Mancienne as his natural replacement. Now that he's on a season-long loan to Wolves again, I'm not sure who's going to be playing the Belletti role.
The Moos Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Perhaps the not the best player in the team, but one who never complained when on the bench and who also worked hard when he got the chance. Only problem I have with him (apart from coming from Barcelona) is that he didn't shoot more. I think he usually took perhaps one shot in the games where he played and considering the amazing shot he has (dare I say it - better than Lampard?) he should have tried to shoot more often. Did he ever score an easy goal for us? I can only remember the rockets. Anyway. He will be missed, even if we might not know it.
TheWestwayWonder Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Great thread Gem, what a model professional this guy was. I loved him from the moment he scored that goal against Barca, not just for doing it, but you could see what it meant to him. Not celebration, just pure emotion. I am hard pressed to think of a squad player whose memories will last as long thanks to those goals. The guy just had an uncanny ability to rocket a ball into the corner of the net. Best of luck in future Juliano, thank you for all the memories and cheers Also, while there is video highlights going on, I thought I would post this memorable comeback which he kicked off for us: wonderful day
The Brit Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 turned out to be a very astute signing by the club...great squad man and gave us some brilliant goals...think he enjoyed his time here too
The Moos Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Nice win. But two things stood out in that video. 1. Scolari - Can't stand to see his face! 2. Stoch - Why the h*ll did we let him go!?
dkw Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Suprisingly the better of the two south americans we bought (I know, Deco was officially "Portugese") and was a superb squad player. A perfect example to those who seem to think older players shouldnt be added to our squad.
Phillip Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Joe... who? The next instalments are for Ballack & Ricky. I'll do one for Sam too :) I was worried that one of your three was Deco, and if so, you would have a lot of explaining to do with Bluebeard. You are now officially off the hook.
Andreas Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Will miss him for sure, gave it 110% whenever he was given the chance and glad that he got to end his career at chelsea with the double. Good luck in Brazil.
ws6blue Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 juliano...............................theres a proper character great first touch, good range passing, biting in the tackle, clever and sneaky tackler......................and great shot yes he gave away some daft fouls - likes diving in early - bit old school and risky but always good to watch very versatile, would loved to have him at sb when he was younger one of few to score CL Final goal (shame not for us) always welcome back at the bridge top class bloke
ace Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Well he kinda did score for us in the CL final...big props for him to be put straight into a game of that magnitude and slot home a PK. Always liked him, sad to see him go but it was a good time for someone like him to move on.
midlandblue Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 a great squad player and an ideal man to bring on from the bench to change things, scored a screamer at WBA if I remeber correctly.
