Liverpool have had a £30m offer for Newcastle striker Andy Carroll rejected, BBC Sport understands.

Newcastle insist the 22-year-old is not for sale and reportedly turned down an approach from Tottenham last week.

Carroll has scored 11 goals in 19 league games this season and made his full England debut in November's 2-1 defeat by France at Wembley.

Liverpool have agreed a £23m fee for Ajax striker Luis Suarez but could be set to sell Fernando Torres to Chelsea.

I think AV made a good move picking up USA intl mid Bradley (son of the USA manager). Felt he was one of their better players at the WC and could develope into an ever better player. Seems to be very intelligent on the pitch too.
