May 4, 201115 yr Ok so rumours of Zola`s impending arrival as a coach seem to be gathering speed. I would be more than happy to see that happen and I think it would go a bit of a way to placate those unhappy with Butch`s booting.

I would be more than happy to see that happen and I think it would go a bit of a way to placate those unhappy with Butch`s booting. I think it would be an excellent appointment, he has the respect of everyone in world football, and I think he'l work well with carlo, as I'm sure they're paths will have met along the years.
May 4, 201115 yr I'd love to see Zola here, what a man and legend! Heres to hoping it happens, I have a feeling that him and carlo would work out well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uuVZcnPCwQ What a great video.
May 4, 201115 yr I think Zola being could really help our younger players as much as anything, especially Gael kakuta, if there's one man who can teach him to how use his skill to effect football at the highest level, it's Zola. We also have piazon, sturridge, and mceachran. But I think his proffesionalism is something that could also be the difference for these young kids. Terry spoke about how Zola's diet, and attitude towards training was an inspiration for him, and I'm sure it would be for any player learning his trade.

I was there and it still brings a tear to my eye watching it. What that man could teach gifted youngsters....

Indeed they have - Zola was (just about) still playing for Parma when Carlo took over as manager. Carlo sold him to us after about 3 months on the job, but they must have had some kind of relationship in that time.
May 7, 201115 yr Nuri Sahin apparently as good as done for Real Madrid now. I though it had been refuted by his club, they said no offer had been made by any team.
May 7, 201115 yr Name another man who gets a football match in his honour when he hasn't served the football club for 10+ years. With him as coach... oiy, what a great day that would be.

May 7, 201115 yr Bale got a nasty injury! Hope we don't buy him his body has taken a battering, and he's over rated. This post was mainly about the nasty injury though
May 7, 201115 yr Agreed, I don't think his body is up to this league. He should be young and fit but he takes a lot of knocks. Reminds me of Robben, blinding when fit, but susceptible to the odd injury.
May 7, 201115 yr everytime he is down he grabs his knee like its f**ked. definatly something wrong because its constant. It would be a huge risk 40mill for him and more importantly he's really not worth that would rather spend money else where
May 8, 201115 yr Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is considering using Brazil star Kaka as bait to lure Chelsea's Frank Lampard to the Bernabeu. Full story: Sunday Mirror Mourinho wants to make a £10m bid for Blues striker Didier Drogba - but the Ivory Coast hitman is unsure whether to leave Stamford Bridge. Full story: Daily Star Chelsea are in talks with Ajax over Dutch full-back Gregory van der Wiel and Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen, who starred against England in February. Full story: Sunday Mirror
May 8, 201115 yr Mhhh, Christian Eriksen, very good player and talent. But I don't know if he can handle the game in England, Eredivisie is something totally different.

May 8, 201115 yr and Terry... Hmm, Mourinho seems to want every of his former players, except Terry. Does that has anything to do with the rumour that Terry forced him out of Chelsea? Edited May 8, 201115 yr by minhxode

May 11, 201115 yr Aguero has said he wants to stay at Atletico and Palermo said they aren't going to be selling Pastore this summer, there go two options.
May 11, 201115 yr If and when Wet Spam get relegated, I think we should have a cheeky bid to bring Scott Parker back. If we move on a few central midfielders this summer, e.g. maybe Essien and Mikel depending on offers, he could be a decent asset in the middle I reckon. A midfield three of Parker, Ramires and then one of either lamps or mceachran would be quality. Two hard working, energetic midfielders running from box-to-box, freeing up the 3rd to push forward more and create for the strikers.
May 11, 201115 yr I doubt we will get Pastore. If Palermo sell him it will be for a lot of money and I think Pastore has said that he would only go to Real Madrid or Barcelona. Edited May 11, 201115 yr by The Moos

I wouldn't mind having Parker back, and could fill a gap until Josh is a bit older.
May 11, 201115 yr I wouldn't mind having Parker back, and could fill a gap until Josh is a bit older. Or block Josh`s route into the 1st team for a few more years. This is where it gets difficult for a manager who has to start integrating youth into a squad.
