To Brendan Rogers for reaching 3rd place with Swansea and to Scott Sinclair for banging in 24 goals (so far) this season - let's hope we see you at the Bridge next year

Well pen needs to be put to paper quick.

If he was going to stay I don't think he or the club would allow his contract run down.

I fear you're right but hope you're wrong. He's looked a natural goalscorer for the reserves and for Swansea, and I would love to see what he could do in the Premier League.. in a Chelsea shirt, of course.

Swansea were excellent last night in the first leg of the Championship play-off semi-finalaway at Forest, coming away with a 0-0 draw despite being down to 10 men for almost the entire game, Neil Taylor having been sent off after only 90 seconds. In fact during the first half especially it was difficult to tell which team was a man short.

Fabio Borini, who had come close on a couple of occasions, was taken off with a suspected hamstring injury but Brendan Rogers said after the game that he didn't think it was as serious as they'd initially thought. Second leg next Monday., match report here:

Really hope he doesn't go to the scousers. I like him too much for that. Plus, I think he'd be good for them and any team in the PL to an extent

  1. The BBC's Midlands Football Reporter Pat Murphy reports Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers is expected to be confirmed as the new Liverpool manager in the next 48 hours. The clubs are understood to be discussing compensation now.

Didn't he do something similar at Watford by saying he wouldn't join Reading and 2 weeks later he joint Reading.

It is quite strange that a week ago he apparrently had no interest in the job and now he is going to get it.

He's a good manager, but then again so was Roy and the pressure and circumstances of that job destroyed him within six months. Rodgers has a lot of dross to clear up, and that squad still his to be revamped totally (thanks for that Kenny).

Confirmed as new Liverpool manager on 3 year deal.

BBC Sport.

I think he's on a hiding to nothing. Third rate squad and fans with ridiculously inflated expectations for where they are. Most of them are still pining for Benitez and Dalglish. He'll be under huge pressure if they don't hit the ground running.

I gather that he distanced himself from the role when there was a long list of candidates, sort of took the "why bother upsetting the club (Swansea) when my chances are so slim" mentality. Wonder how this would make Sigurdsson feel? He's about to sign for them for 6.8m. If we weren't looking so plush with attacking midfielders I'd say we should hijack the deal!
