Vintage Blues pictures and film

Does anyone else remember that the clock end was rammed before the first person appeared on the north bank and we let out a massive cheer taking the p*ss!

Must have been a great view down at the North bank at how packed it was in our end. Still think the attendance was more then advertised.

Tax dodges plus turnstile operators taking cash and keeping the peddle down so the counter on the turnstile didn't increase. Happened everywhere.

certainly happened under Batseyboy(alledgedly).........Used to see gate quote of , lets say 21 000............When one worked out an approx of area taken up you could easily add another 5 to 8 thou...Made me smile it was so obvious sometimes

There’s some seriously good stuff on here. I’m enjoying these pictures. Thank you all.
My apologies if it was posted before, don't remember seeing it...

1965-66. John Hollins, Allan Young, Peter Bonetti, Marvin Hinton, Ron Harris, Eddie McCreadie, Barry Bridges, George Graham, Peter Osgood, Terry Venables and Bobby Tambling[/quotelove that kit, no logos, looks so pure.

We had hundreds in the same place Easter '79, all got in too late and their main faces were between us and the cover. Learn't their lesson from the previous season I suppose.

Same thing happened in 91/92 as well mate, loads of us met at Holloway road & pre-planned it, all got in in dribs & drabs got to the top of the stairs & plotted up, as soon as the Chelsea players came out to warm up the Chelsea chants went up, with that plod put a cordon around us, on the Arsenal club video you can see them doing w**ker signs to their right which is where we were after they scored, we went 2.0 up & lost 3.2 ffs lol

That pic of the North Bank is taken from the Chelsea Independent fanzine. From memory there was no trouble a few Chelsea made an appearance and Arsenal basically ignored them.

You've got a good memory mate, your spot on. do you remember the pic of Vinny Jones on the back of a fanzine pointing to loads of us up in the same corner in 91/92? as i posted above, i cant find it anywhere.

I moved house recently and had to make decisions on what i left behind. And so i left a load of Chelsea fanzines behind i used to buy them at the ground or Sportspages. I had Chelsea Independent, Red Card, West Standers, Carefree, S.W.6, a couple of Blues Brothers which i didn't really care for and Cockney Rebel which wasn't much cop. So if you asked me before xmas Carlshalton i'd probably have been able to answer you mate.

if its in the independent I might have it, I'll look thru them this week.

The funniest Vinny PIC is him with a cardboard box on his head that blew onto the pitch in one game !

We used to have some great fanzines, as someone mentioned up there, the current one is excellent too, and still " only a pound" !
