if its in the independent I might have it, I'll look thru them this week.

The funniest Vinny PIC is him with a cardboard box on his head that blew onto the pitch in one game !

We used to have some great fanzines, as someone mentioned up there, the current one is excellent too, and still " only a pound" !

The Indie used to do pics but sometimes with speech bubbles, there's a great photo of our fans at Spurs but spoilt with speech bubbles.

The Red Card & Carefree used to do pics on the back cover as well.

Was working at The Open Golf  and started talking to a guy about Chelsea and he started talking about being at the Greenock Morton v Chelsea Fairs Cup match in autumn of 1968 !

He wasn't into football, but was from London and was just working in Greenock at the time of this match.

Just thought I'd share that.

Our team that night was all English apart from Eddie Mac.

Wish i could have gone to a game when we still had our North Stand, strange stand given the size & where it stood compared to the terracing & original east stand.

It looks like they gave QRR the upper tier for this match.

I bet it was a terrific view up there. Remember the gap at the front of the roof to allow the floodlight to shine through ?

It was very good, I sat there once on the late 60's.  I bet it was good as an away fan as well, if you watch any of those re-runs that have on Chelsea TV, there's one against Spurs where they're under it and they're pretty loud.

Tax dodges plus turnstile operators taking cash and keeping the peddle down so the counter on the turnstile didn't increase. Happened everywhere.

My dad worked on the turnstiles at Arsenal, Chelsea and Twickenham and said he would often let two in per payment but other operators had far more ambitious scams - one even unscrewed the turnstile to let loads in without being counted.

I keep trying to upload pictures but it says the files are to big . Any ideas .

Depending where the photo is from mate, copy the url open the image tag above, little green square box & paste the url in to the tag bar(hope that makes sense)

Re the 1968 Fairs Cup game v Morton line up.

Agreed re Eddie Mac and Charlie Cooke was injured and so didn't play against his home town side.

Charlie had grown up in Greenock
