Micky Hazard was brilliant but Hollins never rated him unfortunately still baffles me how he could have left him and Pat Nevin on the bench against Man United we were terrible that day. I don’t think Hazard was great getting up and down the pitch but he could open a tin of baked beans with his left foot. Pains me to say but Spurs had a top midfield with him, Hoddle, Ardiles, Villa, Perryman etc

Remember going to White Hart Lane in August 87, and Micky Hazard playing for us got a huge rendition of there's "Only one Micky Hazard" that seemed to go on for ages, sadly we lost in last 5 minutes to a Nico Classes goal, rare mistake from Eddie I think. We had fantastic support that day, with loads locked out, never been in such a rammed terrace, dangerous, in hindsight not surprising Hillsborough happened less than two years later.

Tremendous servant in mostly a crap side for many years, if he was introduced to the crowd he’d get a hell of a reception.
June 13, 20206 yr Great question about Micky Droy ,i cant remember him ever being paraded around the pitch.I always forget how he was in and around the whole 1970 team ,i kind of always think of him playing from 1975 ish onwards seem to recall he had a paint and decorating business or something

Micky Droy had an electrical shop in Kensal Rise it's still there but he retired a couple of years ago not certain but I think he lives in the States now. Fell out with Bates big time and honestly don't know if he ever stepped foot in the Bridge again. The Eddie McCreadie book that came out a couple of years ago he's the only player of the era not interviewed Roman has a box for ex players of the era and they have a rota where they get to use it think they all get to go about 10 times a season each not sure how many are allowed at a time.
