July 24, 20223 yr Thought that this was the best place to post this. A roll of honour from 2017 to 2022. I'm sure that we all recognise Sean Lock but some may recognise others who have left us.

I used to enjoy the Kingstonian pre seasons not least because I could walk to the ground in half hour or so from New Malden. Reckon the first one was on a Friday night in 96. The Robert Peel strip pub next door did a roaring trade whenever we played there. Micky Droy rattled off a good few appearances for Kingstonians after he ended his pro career. Both his knees were bandaged up and he wasn't particularly mobile, but he was a force at set pieces by all accounts.

I remember pounds, shillings and pence and getting into Saturday morning pictures for a shilling. The switch to decimalisation resulted in prices increasing as there had to be some rounding-up. The good old days of half-a-crowns, ten bob notes, tanners etc. God, I feel old!

Probably because you are 🤣 . I used to go to Saturday morning Odeon kids cinema, 3d downstairs, 6d upstairs. Half pennies and pennies were still being carried around in your pocket..more fun back then, no nanny state, nobody wrapping kids in a bubble....

An honourable trophy to win back then...shame its just treated as a 2nd rate piece of tin these days, thanks to the rise of European football and awful naming of the trophy to appease the sponsors.

One of the advantages of getting old is getting concessions when buying tickets for concerts etc. As a kid I remember being given two shillings on a Saturday. That would cover getting into Saturday morning pictures, a couple of bus fares and a bag of chips. Different times.

He asked Ken if it was legal to electrify the fence and was told just to do it and all would be okay.
