Nice post Blue Haze, brings a tear to the eye, can you imagine that sort of support these days - I would not fancy being a oppo player taking a throw in front of them.

Our only European matches against Scottish opposition and their only ever European matches.  Punk Rock United vs Celebrity XI at the Bridge 1980 this is the game where Billy Idol is smudged wearing a Chelsea top that's been posted before. In the pic Billy Idol, Paul Cook and Steve Jones, Richard Jobson I was a fan of the Skids at the time and the legendary Phil Lynott who's showing good ball control.

We have although there seems to be a few younger faces going away these days. I have posted on the forum that I have my doubts that we will fill a 60,000 stadium week in week out if everything is resolved in 5 years. People stop going, move out, can't be bothered, prefer to watch it in the pub etc and of course our generation won't be around in 10-15 years. If we stop being a challenging for trophies club then interest from tourists will be down the West Stand lower is frankly a joke so where are the next generation of fans going to come from ?

We lost loads of fans in the sh*t years 75-95 who supported other clubs who's kids then support the same club mainly Arsenal and Spurs especially Arsenal who were the armchair fans team when the PL started on Sky. So Chelsea have been playing catch up ever since and the price of tickets is out of reach for most young people in London a the price of a pint is taking the piss will hit the £10 mark by the end of the decade. I went to my first game three years after this look how young the kids are that's just mates from estates going to football think you have to be over 14 to go in unaccompanied now.

 

Good post.. As youngsters it was easy for a group of us  to turn up and pay on the gate, and stand together ., chanting and singing in our thousands. Now it's memberships and season tickets and less in the way of a common a community as it used to be.

Eventually every fan in the stadium will have a half price senior season ticket . !
