I was at that game!

He was a Streatham lad , he only played a few games , can't remember how well he played, but it was a sensational start, we all thought we had discovered a new star, but we sold him on.

Just did a bit of research on the great bounder.friardale site. We signed him in Jan 1967. He played five games for us, scoring that goal v Spuds on his debut. He moved to Southend in Sept 1967 for £5,000.

Just thinking. He made his first team debut aged just 16 against Spuds and scored in it !😀 And the group of players we had back then were very good indeed.

Been some discussion about a picture this is the game I've posted this before although a few years ago now. I had no memory of this game I was 6 years old and when I stumbled upon it was the first time I'd seen it some Chelsea goals were often repeated back in the day but never from this game. Thought it would have got more comments over the years in football related areas because Jimmy Hill is commentating !

Against Everton 75, Bruges 71 and Derby 73. The main reason I posted the Derby one is I'm pretty sure it was used as a birthday card when I was young. You could guarantee that when it was your birthday as a kid someone would  get you a birthday card with either Chelsea on the front or a generic card usually for some bizarre reason always seemed  to be Coventry in their green and black striped top.
