Blimey, that's a new one on me, must have been early in the seventies.  The only games I can remember at SB were a Brighton/Palace replay (Brighton in the Shed), Southampton v Palace FAC Semi (Soton in Shed) and Arsenal v Orient FAC Semi (Arse in 90% of the ground).

Scrolling down the list of FA Cup Semi-FInals on WIkipedia, the 1975 West Ham vs Ipswich semi-final replay was played at The Bridge. I can't imagine many Chelsea would have turned up for that one though.

The other semi-final also went to a replay, in which Fulham played Birmingham at Main Road. I remember a lot of Chelsea fans went along with Fulham mates following their cup run that season. So I don't suppose you were up in Manchester with Fulham by any chance?

Unless, and after reading your post again, this is maybe more likely, your memory is playing you tricks, that it was actually West Ham or Ipswich in the Shed, but over the years you've managed to combine your memories of this match with that season's other  semi-final.

After a couple of replays, FA Cup matches were played at neutral grounds such as the Palace/ Brighton one I went to but I'd have thought generally as close us possible to the two clubs.  I doubt you'd be able to find this info online other than trawling the clubs concerned databases.

Mike, is Ernie my mate from Bletchley? I think we've spoke of him before and I'll ask him for his version next time I see him, if it is him obviously.

I was at the Westham v Ipswich replay in 75 courtesy of some birthday cash, it was my 15th that day and I was in the Shed which was the Ipswich end for the night. Unsurprisingly there was a big mob of Westham in there who made an attempt to take the end, can't recall seeing any of ours in there at all.

Ive just gone on line and it may not have been a semi...the nearest i could see was 76 man city v norwich in a replay at the Bridge...Musta been that one ill presume..Says it was a league cup  2nd replay..........Now that has mystified me...I would never have remembered that

I remember Ernie Skitzys cousin lived in Bletchley and we used to go and stay up there on the piss remember a nightclub in Leighton Buzzard.

He organised a coach for the Millwall game in 1976 which turned up at our pub the Swan in Lee High road a story I mentioned in an earlier thread

Didn't know him back then as I only moved to MK in 82 but he was the first Chelsea supporter I met after moving here and he's still a good friend to this day. He wont thank me for posting this but he's 62 now and getting married again in December, still goes to as many matches as he can get to and still a top bloke. He has told me about the Millwall coach before so no doubt we're talking about the same chap, if you PM me with your name, or whatever name he knew you by I'll let him know as he can't really get his poor old head around all this new fangled interweb stuff, all the best.

Must have been a fair while ago mate as David is pushing 40 now but glad to say he's turned out as nice a chap as his dad is.

Chelsea vs Millwall at Wembley - another one you don't see on the trophy list:

We can't count trophies from 58 years before we were founded.

Quite a good read that but I think some of it is bollocks, only 200 England in Spain? lot more than that & they wernt all Chelsea like the writer states

Nah the fella is spot on mate. I remember the stabbings in madrid. It was reported in the press. Loads of england in bilbao but the locals were friendly (as they see themselves as basques not spanish ) for the group games but very few England went to madrid, although 200 is probably a bit of a low estimate.I t was very hostile in spain because of their ties with Argentina and the falklands war at the time.

Fair enough mate I read it as England only had 200 out there for the whole tournament rather than just in Madrid.

Brilliant pic mate, have you any more?

only the ones i put up from the same game earlier on this thread, my missus at the time took them, i never thought to take a camera in those days, if we knew back then what we know now eh

i have got some boxes of old newspaper cuttings and memorabila though, i will be posting some up when i can get in "that" cupboard.
