Its supposed to be the Notts County demo but i thought they played in their home kit that day?

playing in their away kit makes sense, we played in yellow and green two years running at Meadow lane (both games on YouTube) Remember a friends Girl friend being there as her first game, when she saw the Horses riding down the steps in the North Stand she asked if this happened every game!!!
great pictures. Was at both games, great emotions on both days, but for different reasons. Last ten years we've been very successful, but for some reason 83/84 to me still means so much. Anyone else in their mid 40's or older feel that way?

Definitely. It was a magical experience seeing us win that division with a very special team.

intimidating was not a word i would use for the vast majority of games played at Stamford bridge during the 80s! You could hear a pin drop at lots of games and with the stands so far away at half full the atmosphere was mostly pony.

what about the late 60s n 70s then

Mike, a bit before my time mate. went to about 4 or 5 games throughout the 70s when i was a nipper, but started going regularly 79/80. thing is even with 25000 sometimes the bridge could be quiet. the stands were just too far away. i do think some of our fans were intimidating though lol

If i could wake up on saturdays (when footy should always be played) and be in my teens, and it would strangely be back in the 70s, and id meet and integrate with those wonderful guys and gals.Go to the partys that chelsea fans had..Id be a very very happy 58 yr old

Ive said that to loads of people. How many games did it really go off in the ground not that many. Most prob about 20

it was only intimidating for away supporters... it was never intimidating for opposing teams
