Jimmy Nicholl had a very interesting career as both player and manager.

He played for Man Utd, Rangers (twice, later managing Rangers as a caretaker manager at the end of 2017/18, after being an assistant manager at Ibrox).

Won an FA Cup winners medals with Man Utd in 1977 and a runners up one in 1979. He also won two League titles with Rangers and 3 League Cup winners medals

He played in two World Cups for Northern Ireland (82 and 86) for whom he played 73 times.

He was manager of Raith Rovers when they famously beat Celtic in the 1994 Coca Cola Cup Final  (as a second tier team) and took them into Europe, where they played Bayern Munich in the 1995/96 UEFA Cup.

They actually led 1-0 in the second leg in Munich at half time, before Bayern won 2-1 and were eventual Cup winners.

Just a bit lively.

Was anyone milling around Fulham Broadway before kick off when the ICF turned up en route to Plough Lane, and how many of them were there?

I know afterwards there were that many Chelsea looking for revenge at Parsons Green there were as many outside the station as on the platform which was packed.

One of my favourites...pleasantries before the thuggery begins...you can imagine Chopper asking Mackay which leg he'd like broken first...

A great photo. One of my favourites and such a great side. Thanks for posting.

No problem,I just reposted it.

Not sure who actually posted it originally !

Above was from March 78. We beat Liverpool 3-1 in the League at The Bridge in front of 35,550.

Our scorers were: Tommy Langley in the 50th and 'Jock' Finnieston in the 60th and 90th mins.

Phil Neal opened the scoring for them in the 48th min.

All cuttings, again, from bounder friardale site.
