Did you say you had a couple of mates who used to sit in there ?. That was half the fun of going to a match. Sitting in a rickety old stand or standing on a crumbling terrace open to the elements. Bradford opened a lot of people's eyes to just how dangerous such places had become. Even Wembley was looking pretty shabby back in the 1970s and 80s.

Did you say you had a couple of mates who used to sit in there ?. Thank you. I found the pictures in a forum on Facebook. There's a guy who drinks in my local who first went to the Bridge in the early sixties and I think he sat in the old North Stand. Will check with him when I next see him. He lived in or near the North End Road and for many years went to nearly all the games home and away. Only goes to games once in a while now.. A couple of the guys I go to the games with started going to the Bridge in the mid-sixties and I've never heard them mention sitting in the old North Stand. Will check with them. I don't know if I'd to have sat in the old North Stand. It does look unsafe. I don't mind heights but saying that I nearly fell about thirty feet from a scaffolding tower when I was about 16. No hard hats or safety harnesses in those days!

December 27, 20205 yr David Webb, playing in goal v Ipswich on 27th Dec 1971. He kept a clean sheet as we won 2-0. Still an amazing performance and story. Edited December 27, 20205 yr by erskblue
December 27, 20205 yr David Webb this time scoring v Preston in an FA Cup 4th Round game back in 1969.
December 27, 20205 yr After Jorginho's awful penalty last night I cast my mind back to our best penalty taker I've ever seen for us Graham Roberts. He used to mix it up placed it sometimes whacked it others and I don't recall him ever missing one. I remember him scoring a last minute one against WBA in 88 to preserve our unbeaten run at the time it was about this time of year as well. He's firmly in the Spurs camp these days and fell out with Bates at the time. Can't remember him playing much after the game against Liverpool in 89 we lost 5-2 they absolutely wiped the floor with us first time I've ever seen a team with such quick movement I was in the East Stand which has a great view rather than the back of the Shed or the West Stand. The Liverpool game is on Youtube but I'm not posting it still brings back bad memories after all these years also my mate a couple of days later at the age of 23 I remember him saying in the pub after he wasn't feeling well got chicken pox 🤣 Edited December 27, 20205 yr by bluehaze

Think we lost to Wimbledon 5-2 a few weeks later or before, wisey was on fire for them
