Me and my mates watched this game in my local new governor had just taken over it was his first pub he'd just moved from Ireland. It's safe to say he'd never seen about 20 geezers celebrate a last minute goal before he was a bit bemused thinking what have I let myself in for 😁

A 4-3 win at Goodson on 22nd Dec 1984.

Gordon Davies with a hat trick and Colin Pates were our scorers.

A memorable win. Everton were a top side back then. Such a shame there's no footage of the game.

I remember Pates scoring a late equaliser up there a couple of years later. He didn't score many.

About 10 or so years ago, I met one of my sons school mates dads, we got talking and he was Chelsea, and he said him and a couple of mates drove up to this game in a battered old Ford Escort, I was at school at the time, and I had two mates who were Fulham fans who were gutted when we signed Gordon Davies and rubbed it in when he scored this hat trick, about all he did do for us, still see my Fulham mates and every so often send them a picture of Gordon Davies in a Chelsea strip

In the famous 5-3 win over Fulham early in THAT season, Davies scored a hattrick for them while Kerry scored one for us. I would guess that is pretty rare - a hattrick for both teams.

Edit: It's incredibly rare, and has only ever happened once in the Prem (our game was of course in Div 2).

Has there ever been a Premier League match in which two players from opposite sides scored a hat-trick? Asked John Hankin.

This unusual feat has happened once since the Premier League was established in the 1992-93 season. At the JJB Stadium in December 2007, Roque Santa Cruz scored all three Blackburn Rovers goals - but Marcus Bent also scored three, and Wigan Athletic ended up winning 5-3.

Yes after that 5-3 win v Fulham, my Fulham mates tried to comfort themselves with that Davies had outgunned Kerry Dixon on the day, I was having none of it and ripped into them, remember the previous season we nearly went down to Div 3 and they should of gone up to Div 1 but blew it on final  day of season at a controversial game at Derby

Remember that on my bedroom wall, with my Posters of an American female singer, think her name was ‘Madonna’ bit of one hit wonder, what ever happened to her?
