Something for Didier

Do people remember the card I made for Bobby Tambling when he was ill? Well I was thinking about doing something similar but to Drogba as a 'thank you' - what do people think? Do you think if it was sent to Cobham they would forward it to China?! Would I have to beg? I was going to wait till later on in the season or the Chinese season at least so I know he's there and not America or the Ivory Coast.

Thoughts people?

EDIT: I clearly love the word people

You might be able to short circuit using Chelsea and send it to the China football team directly. I think your chances would improve doing it that way. They must have a web site.

It can't be that expensive to mail a regular thank you card to China. I suspect 1 or 2 pounds maximum. Now, if you are going for an oversize card, then perhaps 5 pounds, but not much more than that (unlike the Fathead stuff, which had a very high price due to the large triangular box that it is shipped in).

I'm not making 2 Zola!!

If the prices aren't insane (over £20.00... I have no idea, I don't send letters abroad..!) then yeah I'll send it direct to China.

Thanks Mod, much appreciated sweetie x

Phillip - I wanted to make one, Tambling's was just over A4 solid, thick card - I wanted to do the same.

We could do it digitally (I could do it in inDesign), export it as a PDF and print two copies.

I'm totally fine with that Mod, as I said I'll go with the masses. We'll have more time this time so those who missed out for Bobby will hopefully see this (I know a couple of regulars missed out).

There's a contact form on Didier's own website, perhaps we could ask how best to get it to him through that? I'd assume it would be his PA or someone that read it, rather than him directly so it hopefully wouldn't spoil the surprise. I too would chip in for postage. Great idea Gem.

Okay well whilst I can't start it till next weekend, we can start getting messages together.

Perhaps a separate thread Mod? Pinned used solely for messages like the one for Tambling?

Can I ask no mail merge this time! Perhaps just a link at the top of the page or whatever.

Whatever you all want to do. I meant that it could be created in inDesign, exported as a PDF, printed as a classy card and snail mailed.

Gem, if you have the time, I'd say make one like you did before. Its more personal and at least he will receive it as opposed to something digital sitting in an email address at the Shenhua offices.

I quite agree with this, Gem. The card you sent Bobby was unique. Postage to China won't be that much - I volunteer to pay the postage if you do the art work.

Okay, thought I'd resurrect this thread and post what I've done so far in here (sorry for sizeness). It's A4 and I hope you like.

I note all your gasps that I have no other plans on a Saturday night.

So yeah, same style as Bobby's... messages will be added in tomorrow, I'll show the finished article and then send next week  Also no negative comments as I can't change it and I may cry.
