Happy that he is getting a new deal, there's no doubt that we still very much need him. Now let's give Cole and Lamps new deals.

Lampard should get a 2yr deal too as should Ashley - the fans should demand it against Villa.

Said this before on these forums but dare I say it one of the impressive things that manure have done with their senior players in recent years, is to keep them on and get them started on their coaching badges. Really wish we would do the same in particular with JT as he has been a one club man... Would be great if we could do it with lamps and Ash as well. Not as if we haven't got the resources to do it

as long as lampard doesnt demand to be playing week in week out, by his own admission we know how much he likes to play every game if he can.

If Lampard were willing to accept a wage reduction commensurate with his reduction in ability, then I'd be much more open to the idea of extending him. Ash and JT are still playing at a world class level, so extending them should be a no brainer. 

Hasn't Terry got a clause in his contract making him the highest paid player at the club? In light of FFP regulations, it would be madness to renew his contract on the same terms.

Im not sure you could offer JT a new contract with less money, he would play practically every game and be our captain, he is Chelsea through and through, if he could accept 1 year contracts and get his coaching badges it would be great

Good news, but can only reiterate the sentiments that if he is offered a new contract, then it should be tweaked to fit more with the club's needs, and JT's age.

 

Then offer something similar to Lamps and Ash (but I can see Ash wanting a change of scenery anyway).
