Are you a ‘True Blue’?

Featured Replies

The title often gets thrown around losely, having followed Chelsea all my life I see 'so called' fans come and go. I was hoping to get the opinions of other Chelsea supporters.

As a Chelsea fan myself, I was wondering what it takes for a supporter to be considered a ‘True Blue’?

You have to be depressed...

Not that it's hard with a useless lump in charge of the team.

A tin of paint.

If you're Scottish you can save money by walking around naked in the winter!

Or use woad...

How long is a piece of string?

That long.

A thorny subject for some, I'll throw my opinion in for what it's worth.

In my book, as long as your passion for Chelsea isn't fleeting, you're a 'true' supporter.

Whether you watch every match religiously and spend far too much time knocking about on forums talking about the team, or keep an eye out for our results and catch games here and there, as long as you make an effort to keep abreast of the goings on at the club then no one has a right to question your validity as a fan.

Personally, if it wasn't for my uncle handing my five year old self a Dennis Wise shirt upon his return to New Zealand after living in London, I probably wouldn't be a Chelsea supporter. I've never been to Stamford Bridge as I don't have two pennies to rub together to make the journey, and I wasn't even born when we were plying our trade in division two, but I don't think any of that makes me less of a supporter.

I don't think location should have a bearing on whether or not a person should be considered a 'true' blue, but I've got a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for the boys (and girls) who spend a heck of a lot of time and money following the club domestically and in Europe. Over land and sea, and Leicester, as it were.

edit: Argh, just my luck, compose a longish comment on a thread that's going to the dogs! Ah well.

You get one letter for each decade you support Chelsea. You get the 'T' after the first decade, then the 'R' the next decade, and so on, until you have done four decades, then you're a TRUE Blue, and you recieve a shiny pin badge, I'm nearly there, I'm up to TRU.

I'm afraid you'll be able to work out my age if I tell you!  I'm definitely NOT a True Blue - HONEST!!!   :connie_oldman_cleanglasses:  :greysweat:

You have to put up with all the sh*te Chelsea Football Club throw at you as a fan.

I must admit I am feeling a bit like the fans who stopped going to the Bridge for various reasons over the years but remain Chels to the core.

Above all you have to accept the club treats it's fans with contempt and an utter lack of respect.

A true blue always support the decision of Comrade Abramovich. A true blue is have respect for manager at all time. Now excuse me I go wait in bread line.

We'll soon be known as the reds.

I'm 20 in the summer, does that mean I'm up to TR? Or as I was introduced to football at 3, do I have to wait another 3 years?

I was a Chelsea fan in spirit in those first three years I'll have you know! ;)

A true blue really feels the pain of that fat Spanish waiter wearing our colours instead of one of our own...ONE DI-MATTEO

I think a True Blue will be there through thick and thin... With that said, anyone still a die hard in May 2013 is a True Blue in my book...
