Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend

Prove the lack of goals & assists from Hazard in comparison to the last few years? I guess the dip is self evident

I still believe that Hazard is one of the best players in the world but I think the hunger is gone after winning the league last season. Madrid are genuinely interested and I dont blame Hazard for having his head turned due to the lack of protection he receives from refs in the EPL.

I am not going to disagree with you cos that could very well be the reason, But I feel that judging by how our whole team under performed the whole of this season I feel like whatever the rot is in our team is also getting to him and bit of man management should bring him back to his best. We saw a huge change in fortunes for Diego Costa and I think once Hazard is back from his injuries we can very well expect a resurgence in his form.

Agreed with you both, but the fact that she can't even get Hazard's name right is what's embarrassing

She misspelled his name on purpose. I'm surprised didn't figure that out.

Can't believe so many want rid of Hazard... 6 months ago he was the best player at Chelsea, top in the PL, and was regarded as the catalyst to lead Chelsea to the 14/15 PL title and beyond over the next 5 years.

Mentally weak? He is the sole reason we won the league last season. The one player who stepped up as Costa/Oscar/Fabregas/Willian's form dipped, and pulled through with goals, assists, and creating for the team.

He's had a few injuries recently, which is understandable given the number of games he's played over the past few seasons - I can't recall an extended injury layoff since 2012... Stop reading the daily rag and get behind him. Imagine seeing him tear up La Liga, or worse, the PL with City or Arsenal...

Playing up front with an out-of-sorts Costa/Fabregas/Oscar/Pedro hasn't helped his form, as his play-style relies on these guys being on point. There's a reason he's running into dead ends at the moment - there's no movement or pivotal striker/CAM he can rely on, aside from Willian. It appears we're getting there again, so I hope we can keep him safe over the window and watch him at it again to drag us to 4th (here's hoping...)

If in doubt, watch an Eden Hazard compilation on YouTube, and you'll remember what this guy brings to the team - a very rare breed. Who else, bar Messi, has such control on the ball, speed, strength, awareness, vision, passing ability, and skills in the locker, and execute it such a silky manner? The only truly world class player we have in the squad, aside from Azpi and Courtious.

The thing is how is it known he doesn't want to be here? Please don't say body language or form because same should be applied to Costa and likes before Guus' appointment. And since Jose's departure we have played 5 games in which he has only played fully in1. He also did come on vs Watford and won a penalty. Why don't we let him recuperate and see till the end of season before passing judgment on him.

Good idea.

Perhaps you can create another thread, Chelsbear?

A How to sell Eden Hazard thread?

Eh?

This is the Eden Hazard thread so why would I want to create another?

That's just bizarre......

Yep.

For the fans who appreciate him,

and still believe in him,

and ask for some patience,

and have enough from doom mongering and negative speculations.

This is a forum, I'm sorry you don't like negative things said about Belgians but it's not always going to be positive stuff.

Getting in a strop every time someone criticises him is strange.

Nothing to do with the Belgians, Chelsbear.

Only the Genk players, I concern. De Bruyne and Courtois and Benteke  and Origi.

And they are doing well, right now.

But if Eden came from Zimbabwe, I would wright the same.

Once again.

I like your idea. See you reaction #3634 on the other page.

A special thread would be fine.

I'm sure you can do it!

You're right. It's not always going positve.

There isn't a need for another thread though. We don't need multiple threads on the forum discussing the same thing.

Everything to do with Hazard get's discussed in here...good and bad.

He's not producing the goods and as each month passes without a goal his value goes down.

Cash in on him and get someone who wants to be here.

How do you know he doesn't want to be here? The last interviews I saw/read said he wanted to achieve more with Chelsea - CL and FA were mentioned - and I recall he was focused on turning the season around in 2016.

I try to stay away from the paper talk so I may not be up with the latest... but if these rumors are true, could you pass on some credible sources, please? From what I see, it's nothing like the Lukaku/De Bruyne exit comments to the media before they moved... Judging by the last few games of 2015, he looked pretty good to me, only let down by the likes of Matic, Fabregas, Costa.

Who would replace Hazard at LM/LW/CAM in a 4231? The only players in that upper echelon of left inverted wingers are what, Ronaldo, Ribery, Reus, Neymar, Sanchez? No chance of getting any of them. Sure we could possibly bring in a decent winger, but the majority are very one-dimensional - Bale, Schurrle, Sterling etc. just don't have that refined ability that Hazard does. Pedro or Schurrle for example - great players, but I just don't see them having that magic to undo parked defenses or go up against the big clubs and deliver when needed. The days of 433 Duff/Robben types are over.

If by the end of the season he's still not performing (though I still believe it's the players around him who have brought him down with them...) then yeah, by all means look into selling. So what, he'll go down 20m in value? We've wasted a lot more cash than that over the years... and it seems that FFP business is irrelevant too with City etc. spending like no tomorrow, and especially if we're not in Europe for a season or two...

Because his body language, performances and all round demeanour tell me he looks like a player who would rather be somewhere else. He’s hardly going to come out and say “I’m bored here so I will be looking to move ASAP” Players just don’t do that the majority of the time.

You look at Hazard last season and now and it’s two completely different players…not just the on the park stuff but he just looks like he isn’t enjoying himself anymore.

He is our most valuable asset in player terms so I’d rather cash in on him while bringing in players who will fight for the shirt and give us everything on the park.

Maybe he will change his mind if we get another manager in who he works well with in the Summer but I’d imagine he will be off to Madrid or one of the other cash rich clubs.

Stan Collymore article

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/eden-hazard-doesnt-mentality-make-7148592

"Should he get his move to Real I’m convinced he will end up getting eaten up and spat out to a Schalke or a Bayer Leverkusen in two or three years, leaving Chelsea laughing all the way to the bank."

No chance I'm clicking that link, but thanks for pasting Stan's piss-poor opinion here so I don't support this rag through ad revenue.

Surely Hazard can see how toxic that club is... not that ours is running smoothly, but Real is run by fools, and dictated by Ramos and co behind the scenes. He'd be much better suited to Bayern imo.

I agree he's looking a little down-beat, and performances haven't been up to scratch, but my view on it is he has had to take the slack as a result of a dip in form across the park. He frequently sparks something only to be let down by the attacking players around him. He doesn't have that steady platform to shine on the pitch as he used to. Far too often I seem him at the half-way line picking the ball up, beating a few players, only to find flat-footed players around him and our striker 2 meters from the corner flag.

It looks as though the team is finding some type of form - Fabregas, Oscar, even Costa are looking like they've overcome their slump, intentional or not who knows... If they can continue this rise in form, I'm certain we'll see Hazard back to his best. What good is selling him for 90mil and relying on Pedro/Kennedy to come up with the goods? No one of his caliber would come near this club if we do lose out on CL... 90mil spree on Moses/Marin type players?

Hiddink talking about how he is going to get Hazard back to his best

"For me it is about freshness," Hiddink said. "If the mind is fresh and players are eager and enjoy training it is a signal of freshness.

"At the Ballon d'Or you see the players and the freshness is there. That is what we are aiming for with him as well, he has to enjoy it and get rid of his physical problems, then he will come back.

"It is all individual approaches. One needs an arm, and another needs a pinch a bit. It is different for each

There isn't a need for another thread though. We don't need multiple threads on the forum discussing the same thing.

Thankfully there is a lot more good than bad.

I know what you are saying, and in the Hazard swap with Bale thread I too expressed my concerns. But with the right coach and handling (and Hiddink at present is certainly saying all the right things) I think we could see Hazard returning to form very soon.

No-one know how much last season took out of him. He was kicked all over the place and never missed a game. The end of season and pre-season was then a total f**k up and with the knocks he has picked up this season, it's no wonder he isn't looking like the same player - not too mention Jose losing the plot and the whole Eva episode.

I know one player doesn't make a team but there is no way I would consider selling Hazard unless we get a f**king good replacement and players of that quality are few & far between. You imagine, selling Eden for say £80m and then blowing most of that on another Cuadrado, Salah & Baba Rahman!!

Edited by Nibs

I doubt we would sell without having an adequate replacement in place.

Hazard is our best player when in form but the way he is playing just now he wouldn't exactly be a big loss. I said it when he signed that when Madrid come sniffing about these players are already half way there.

Now Zidane is in charge (The player he most wants to be like and admires) I can see him pushing for a move come the summer.

Guus might be able to get him back on track and if he does that's great but then we have the situation of who is in charge next season as we basically know its not going to be Guus going by his comments.
