Not sure if this topic has already been started somewhere so if it has apologies

So, the Big Cheeses send out our Renewal forms for Season Tickets, to start getting people ready for this

renewal. But this season they decide that the cut off date 17th May 5pm.

1. Why So Early?? - Season Doesn't close until 19th May

2. Last year - I am sure it was end of may to renew

I just have this gut feeling that they want everyone to renew by 5pm on that Friday, And then 1800 Press Conference

with details on Frank and New Manager.. Once they have our money they know its all good.

I will renew, but I am really p*ssed about the way the club is treating us and expecting us to pay before end of the season

Thought????

They should have kept the same as last year, all this does is create more suspicions and ill feeling, and rightly so.

Because they don't want people to know that Rafa will be in charge before they renew them,

I have written back to them stating I will renew my season ticket but only under the following circumstances:

  • They relocate me to the MHL Upper (currently in MHL lower but time to move - my back can't take the constant standing for long periods of a game anymore)
  • FSW is no longer employed by the club under any capacity whatsoever

I have further stipulated that if they are unable to guarantee these points then I no longer wish to renew my season ticket.

The relevant form has been completed and sent with this letter

Will let you know the outcome one way or the other

I wouldnt be shocked that its because Rafa will be our manager next season. I would bet that a number of fans would give up their season tickets if Rafa was kept on. Chelsea want the money in and dont care if you dont turn up or not.

Is there any process for requesting refunds on your ticket if the season hasn't started?

Was considering a similar course of action to yours Geezer. My point would be the same as your regarding Benitez, but I would also ask for a gaurantee that Torres, should he somehow remain at the club, will be subject to the same selection criteria and competition as the other players, and only be selected on merit.

At the moment I am not intending to renew.

I'm quite sure rafa will be here next season.

Based on what evidence? He has already stated that he's going to go. Our board have made some silly decisions but I can't see Rafa staying on longer than the '6 month interim' contract he signed.

There's not any real way of determining that as it's all down to the manager's opinion, the FSW out thing is very black and white but I don't think you could have any sort of legal argument over selection criteria.

I would like to try to reserve the right to a full refund prior to the season starting should he stay on, after all we have his word "not to worry" as he won't be at the club after May - Breach of verbal contract?

Might need someone with some legal training to look at the club's conditions of sale and then advise/draft a letter to send in with the renewal forms - I'd go for it.

Of course you are right. But I'm sure you get my point. It would be good if it were a level playing field and he was picked solely on the basis of his performances and consistency. Not that he was the owner's personal choice, comes with a big price tag and millions of foreigners and teenage girls buy shirts with his name on.

But then this is Chelsea and Roman Abramovich so I won't be holding my breath.

and why is it? Based off what?

My instincts I guess.

Them wanting people to renew season tickets early just makes me think they want to cash in before they let us down again. Sacked Robbie, Hired Benitez. Hell they're going for the season hat-trick.

and why is it? Based off what?

You can't blame people for thinking it. Having the renewal date before the season ends invites suspicion and mistrust from the fans. Just like the CPO fiasco.

I know its very suspicious looking but I honestly don't think it will happen, Benitez will be gone at the end of the season.

The fat pie said so himself.

... Hope you added as close to block 16 ... Be good to see you actually buy a round at half time .....

I honestly don't think it is any earlier than usual this year ? If I pay by instalments it usually starts on the 1 st June which is no different from any other year ?

I do feel the club are worried on how many fans won't renew this year and want as much time as possible to sell them before the league kicks off ? maybe who knows ......

They always put the cut off date reasonably early. Last year they did it whilst Robbie's future was still uncertain and before Drogs exit was confirmed 100%

  • 3 weeks later...

The outcome is the club have agreed to move me to the Matthew Harding Upper. When asked if that meant the FSW wasn't staying the lovely young lady stifled a laugh and said "I cannot possibly say". The manner of her laugh sufficed for me :-)

Geezer being allowed to sit in the MHU?

Jose is clearly coming home.

Jose is clearly coming home.

I'm only being allowed to sit up there on the proviso I buy Tea Bar a drink from one of the upper drinking establishments
