Has anybody been following these? Big announcement at 12am tonight apparently, He's cryptically suggested its 9 and 26. Also tweeted 'poor nando' and 'at least CLL has taken it like a man'. Captain Leader Legend? Sounds like the info has come from an interview with Jose filmed today

That CLL line have me a little worried actually. When does Terry`s current contract expire?

Terry told he wont be given a new contract?

Terry's contract ends at the end of this season.

 

It might be about the captaincy.

 

Edit: If Terry's no longer an automatic pick, for whatever reason, the captaincy may well go to someone that is.

I had a P.E teacher called Mr Beasley, didn't take kindly to children who brought in a note, excluding them from P.E.

Davey I think that's the most likely.  They wouldn't "announce" he's not being given a new contract - they just wouldn't do anything.  But Beasley may be teasing anyway.

 

Actually, thinking about it, isn't it an interview with Jose - not a press statement as such - would they "announce" anything - wouldn't it be just chat?

It's so hard to gauge exactly what status Terry currently has at Chelsea.

 

Clearly an exceptional defender and arguably the biggest leader in the PL, but he has certainly gotten slower. Whether that's come down to him getting on a bit, or him recovering from that horrid injury remains to be seen. Needless to say, I don't think he should be an automatic starter any more when we have defenders such as Ivanovic, Luiz and Cahill.

 

That's not to say I don't think JT has a role to play, because I think he does. He isn't that old and he will throw himself into the opposition if it meant preventing a goal, it's that dogged determination and leadership that EVERY player can learn from. Terry himself learned a lot from Wise, and I want our future captain to learn a lot from Terry too for as long as possible.

Beasley could very well just be teasing us about both Terry and/or Torres being involved in an announcement tonight.

 

For all I know it could be about a completely separate signing incoming, even though JM has denied this.

He's a Sun journalist who is close to Jose and has done loads of interviews with him.  He hinted about Jose returning in the week before it was announced.  He is not usually a WUM - but he may be exaggerating!
