The Real Madrid Factor

Featured Replies

Madrid are going to be the major players in the transfer window.

They've sold Higuain, I think it's all but done.

They'll be looking to replace him and they're not afraid to spend big, as we know.

They'll be wanting to back the new manager too.

It seems there are four options ..

1. Suarez. The obvious choice. Arsenal can bid all they want but Real can blitz them out of the water. Liverpool would be more willing to do business with them and Suarez would jump at the chance. Madrid may be reticent on account of his reputation. Personally, I can't see Arsenal getting him.

2. Rooney. Would he prefer Madrid over us? Possibly. Would Utd prefer to do business with them? Definitely. Will they want him? It's not out of the question. It may depend on Ancelotti. If Madrid get Suarez expect Arsenal to join the race for Rooney.

3. Ibrahimovic. PSG have just signed Cavani. Zlatan's allegedly none-too-impressed. Another one who would jump at the chance to join Madrid. Ancelotti has worked with him. Again, it may come down to the manager's opinion. Him and Ronaldo in the same side? That might just be a bit too much ego, even for Madrid.

4. Bale. This one may have to wait till next summer. Bale wouldn't be a direct replacement anyway. Of course Madrid could buy Bale plus one of the above.

Whoever they choose, it could have massive implications for us.

What do you think's going to happen .. ? Are there any other names in the frame .. ?

Edit: Mods, I put this in the rumour section as I think it affects us but please move if it needs to go elsewhere.

No PSG players can go to Real Madrid this season. It was a condition PSG put in for letting Carlo go.

Edited by Lane

They should go after a Spanish striker, one who plays for the national team.  Someone with a history of success with a recent bit of poor play who just needs a change in scenery.  I'm not sure he is out there, but if so they should grab him quickly.

I only see Madrid affecting us, if they decide Ronaldo can join United, other than that I think we're on different round-abouts for this seasons transfer window,

Can't see them letting Ronaldo go.

If Zlatan's out of bounds (as Lane says), that means, almost certainly, Suarez or Rooney, and it may come down to the manager. The fact that Jose has openly courted Rooney may make Carlo think seriously about the player, if he isn't already. If they get Suarez, Arsenal will probably go after Rooney but Rooney will know he is only their sloppy seconds, whereas Jose has made it known he only has eyes for him.

I wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool and Utd are sounding out Madrid as we speak, and would be willing to do business with them.

Ideally, they buy Suarez and Bale, let Rooney rot at United and we pick up Ibra.

What will actually happen? Haven't really heard Real linked with many players so far, but surely with Barca picking up Neymar, they will look to pick up a massive name themselves, however Carlo is the ultimate gentleman and I don't think he'd be keen on dealing with Suarez.

So Bale it is.

I dont know i could see Rooney in spain, theres a lovely little GB bar near the Bernabeu that does an all day full English for about 6 Euro's. Fried bread and everything.

I don't why but I just get the feeling Madrid are going try and sign Bale and Suarez whether they are successful or not is another question but I just sense they are going to give Carlo a lot of backing in the transfer market.

Liverpool would much rather sell to Madrid than Arsenal and might even accept less money from Madrid just to avoid selling to a rival.

I think Spurs are stubborn enough to be able to hold onto Bale like they did with Modric initially although should Bale really force the issue then they might not have much choice, plus the rumoured fee is some serious money.

Rooney to Madrid, I don't know... It's so rare for English players to play abroad I always struggle to see it happen.

Bale is a very interesting one. Himself, Madrid & Spurs all know how brilliant a season Bale had last year.... but all must be collectively thinking, can that be done every year?

Is it a case of who blinks first? Spurs (AVB the most) will want to hold onto him, but realistically, if they get a mega money offer then Levy will absolutely take it.

I don't know enough about the Ibra situation to form an accurate opinion, but my gut tells me he won't go anywhere this season. The money is too lush.

I also don't think Madrid will go for Suarez, I just don't think Carlo could be arsed to have that ballbag in his team, despite his talent.... he is not worth it.

You would assume Madrid will be in the market for a striker though after letting Higauin leave, so it will be interesting to see who they go for.

We know ourselves that most the big names have already moved and unless they can convince Lewandowski to join them I can't think who else apart from would be seen as a "marque" style signing that Madrid love to sign.

If Madrid or anyone offers anywhere in the region of £80m for Bale Spurs should snatch their hand of at the shoulder. He aint worth nowhere near that and if reinvested wisely i think most Spurs fans would agree. I'm not sure if the numbers there talking about in the papers are true but thats madness.

The only option for Real Madrid is Gareth Bale. If we (I am a Real supporter) sign Bale, we'll sell Di Maria.

But we aren't going to sign a striker (that's a terrible mistake, in my opinion).

But I think Ancelotti is not a good coach...the match we played yesterday against Olympique Lyon was awful, the substitute defenders are awful, some players were player in really strange positions...

Carlo did the league and cup double here and most fans will tell you he was sacked harshly but i'll let you Real fans make your own mind up about him. After all you have been spoiled for the last few years having JM as manager  .

I'd like to ask would you like to see Real sign Bale for £80m??? or dont you care, are you one of those fans who think well he's a good player and it aint my money?

I said it before, I really do think that Carlo will be sacked at the end of the season. Dont get me wrong he is a lovely guy and will make people love the club but he isnt as good of a manager as people think in my opinion.

Nah i can't agree with that, i think he is a very good manager. For me the Real Madrid job is impossible, for me they have horrible fans and the club thinks too highly of themselves

Fair enough, i dont expect alot of Chelsea fans to agree with my opinion of Carlo to be honest. As i said he is a lovely guy but i never wanted him as manager and wasnt that upset when he was sacked. I was more annoyed about the way it was done because there was no need to treat a nice man in sure a disrespectful way. But for the good of our team i was looking forward to getting another manager.

It depends on the sales that we will do to get the money. If we sell Di Maria and we sign Bale, i would be really happy. But if we have to sell more important players like Coentrao and Khedira(who aren't loved by real madrid fans,by the way), I wouldn't agree with the dale.

I am concerned about the money...but Ronaldo has shown us that a player isn't expensive for Real Madrid if his performance is good enough. And Bale is such a great player...

And the last years, with Jose Mourinho, we haven't spent too much money,we are the first team in the Forbes list...Real Madrid has not money problems. I think we are able to sign some good players for Carlo Ancelotti.

I don't think Carlo is a good coach...he only won an Italian League in 8 years, he has been defeated in UCL by weaker rivals...but,in fact, the only coach I wanted for Real is JM and I really miss him.

Real Madrid job is really complicate. Most of Real Madrid fans are stupid, they can't think for themselves and they believe every the newpapers say.

If press tells them that Carlo is a good coach, they will agree with it. If press tells that Carlo is a bad coach(and other horrible things they said about JM) they will whistle him.

But this term is really complicated, trust me.

This article seems to back up your view, although I don't understand why Real wouldn't want to replace Higuain.

Surely they need a striker .. ?

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/transfer-news-arsenal-must-pay-british-record-transfer-fee-of-50m-for-luis-suarez--but-real-madrid-wont-sign-the-liverpool-striker-even-if-he-begged-8731992.html

they've got a couple of good young strikers from their academy that they'll use. I think the view is that if they sign bale the goalscoring potential he offers would be strong enough to compensate for the risk of using relatively untested competition for benzema.

Carlo brought the best out of the likes of Malouda, Kalou and Drogba and broke all sorts of records at Chelsea, and his sacking was largely down to his inability to get Torres scoring.

And of course, now we know that it wasn't Carlo's fault as 3 manager's have come and gone since that haven't been able to fix him either.

Are you sure it had nothing to do with not winning anything in his last season and being well and truly beaten both years in the Champions League?
