They replace him with foregin manager in 12 months time after they finish 6th next season. british managers don,t work at top clubs anymore

I have to agree with the poster who said you know nothing about football, I agree that city will win the league, however to deny that Rodgers has done a fantastic job at Liverpool is just pure stupidity

I have never said rodgers done a great job. he has but deep down is going to struggle long term at liverpool as he never gets his team to defend well . i fear he another kevin keegan or roy evans.

I do know my football and couid outdebate you on as watched it for over 20 years

your right its over. city are champions but you made a good fist and top four a good achivement. but gerrad basically handed city the title their and then. defining moment of the season

haha to be fair you can't blame me for being confident, in that end that was our downfall, pride comes before a fall and all that jazz!

in end liverpool should have played for a draw and got to caught in chelsea ways. In end gerrad big mistake and tension affected you and chelsea experience showed over your lack of

you had good season but your title hopes died yesterday and ended confirming city at champions of england 2013 and 2014,.

true, still embarresed arsenal mind, scrapping with everton for fourth, enjoy celebrating the fa cup win like a title, wengers done a brilliant job at lowering expectations over the years, fair play to him

EDIT: you know what ignore this, im clearly still pissed off....

f**k, haven't felt this gutted about a loss for a while, Jose had his tactics spot on and I think we (myself inculded) were very naive going into this game. However regardless of what happens this has been a better season than I could have ever expected and I'm really proud of my team. Looking forward to some classic Anfield european nights next year!

Definitely think you in particular were naive, I quoted your 3-0 prediction yesterday and you also thought you'd score 'at least one' in the first half. Fair play to you though haven't tried to make excuses or slagged us off and like you say this season has gone a lot better than most would expect for Liverpool.

Nothing is certain in life. If we had 2 games to go, Palace away and Sunderland at home, you would be saying we'd win the both, but what happened when we played them both? We lost.

City have not yet won the league.

You have not yet won the FA cup.

Chelsea have not yet won the European cup.

Get that through your head. Anything can happen.

He's big test is next season when he has to play maybe 3 games a week. Considering he had a week to prepare for the chelsea game and had no plan b it will be interesting when he has to rest players we might see a view toys being out if the pram situations. He's been lucky in the sence he only had the leauge to prepare for this season but he's done a very good job. Next season is he's big test

winning fa cup is massive as you know from your celebrations in 2006. in end fa cup and top four is great and a trophly which is something you won,t be seeing this season

but look im being harsh. you played great football and deserve top four,. but city experience told in the end

Watching sky sports news and can't help but find the liverpool fans singing that song hilarious when we scored the 2nd. You can almost hear the desperation in their voices and imagine the tears rolling down their faces whilst singing it.

I have feeing he be exposed in same way kevin keegan was at newcastle for his lack of plan b and when they have more tournaments to play

doubt he be their long term and their struggle to make champions elague next year

could see you and city hitting 100 plus points next season as you spend billions in the summer

I really hate when you assume stuff. It's so cocky typical arsenal

Yep, I said that the game would be won or lost in your box and I think I was right, you set out to defend and you did it excellently against us, having said that I do think we were poor, especially in the second half, you could see the pressure getting to us and we gave the ball away constantly, who knows what would have happened if we had played for a draw but rightly or wrongly it's just not in our nature at the moment.

it depends what you mean by a plan b to be honest, we have played so many different formations this season, often changing mid game, we simply didn't have the personal to change much, sturridge (along with everyone else) looked poor when he came on. We had to resort to hoping Iago f**king Aspas would help us change the game, Iago f**king Aspas. We need to adress our squad problems massively.

After the invincible season I don't think consecutive top four finishes and one (possibly two) fa cup(s) would count as anything other than a failure, especially given the fact that you haven't been involved in a title challenge seriously for a number of years and even more recently have just scrapped champions league, we are meant to be seeing progress from arsenal but I honestly think you're falling further away, you don't even make a dent in Europe anymore, you can compete against big teams and your season always collapses when people predict it to, worst of all I'm making these comments on a Chelsea Liverpool match thread

On a scale of 1-10 how funny did you find his corner in the 91st minute yesterday? The one where he passed it straight to matic for no apparent reason

Yeah you did say that and was fair comment. I agree don't think it was a good Liverpool performance I can't think of many players that I would of said had a good match, I think all the support from the fans finally turned into pressure and like you say you were rushing things, giving the ball away. As for playing for a draw, I think that would of been the best thing to do but in all honesty Im sure if Liverpool have it in them, they will always go out to attack teams because that's their strength and where a lot of the time it works there will always be a game here and there where they run out of attacking ideas.

I suspect there is still a further twist in the title race. A lot of people handing it to City now but it isn't that certain in my mind.

As for next season, this year's top three will be the same next season. Liverpool won't fall away in the manner some think and Arsenal will, again, fail to compete with the top three. They have neither the mental strength as a club nor a manager who can mix it with the very best. Fourth spot is considered an achievement for them because that is the peak of their capability
