Hello guys,

My name is Omar. I have recently signed to your forum. I am a Liverpool supporter and usually post on the Kop blocks forum where you're welcome to join us anytime soon as we expand it and want fans from other clubs to join us in our community.

We have a feature on our forum before every match called, "The View from the Other lot" where we basically ask fans of other clubs a few questions to get their views on the upcoming match and how they see it from their view.

Basically all we need you to do is to answer the questions below and I will put the answers on our forum.

Questions:

  • So this is Jose's first season back in charge of the blues after two spells at Italy & Spain? How do you rate this season so far out of 10? What has most satisfied you and what has most disappointed you this season in terms of Chelsea's style of play?
  • You are now competing on two fronts, the league and the CL, how do you think your run in the CL this season affected your league form, given that the losses against Villa, Palace and Sunderland came just before a CL tie?
  • After a physical affair of football against Atletico in the midweek, what kind of game do you expect this weekend?
  • As an Egyptian who followed Salah closely before, and since you lot snapped him up before we did :D, I'm curious to know how good do you think he has been for Chelsea this season? Can you see him having a long term future at the club?
  • What do you make of Liverpool's turnaround in fortunes this season?
  • Best and worst memories against Liverpool?
  • Which player do you think will be the key for your team on Sunday?
  • Which Liverpool player are you worried about most on Sunday?
  • What do you reckon the score will be?
  • If you could have one player from Liverpool, who would you take? Who you send the other way? :D
  • Finally in your opinion who has been Chelsea's player of the season? and Chelsea's young player of the season?

Thanks very much,

Omar.

Hi Omar :)

So this is Jose's first season back in charge of the blues after two spells at Italy & Spain? How do you rate this season so far out of 10? What has most satisfied you and what has most disappointed you this season in terms of Chelsea's style of play?

10, and I'm not exaggerating. I honestly couldn't care less about silverware this season, having Jose back has instilled an aura of confidence that we've not had since the height of the Carlo Ancelotti era (alas, 'eras' at Stamford Bridge are defined in somewhat shorter time frames than eras in the non-Chelsea world).

You are now competing on two fronts, the league and the CL, how do you think your run in the CL this season affected your league form, given that the losses against Villa, Palace and Sunderland came just before a CL tie?

The league is over, to be frank. Short of a victory at Anfield and a crazy result for you guys it's curtains for us. I can't even see us beating you at Anfield, not without a healthy Hazard and not when we'll be resting others for Europe. Who knows, perhaps Matic will have an epic game in midfield and boss Gerrard and co into submission. Fingers crossed, fingers crossed...

After a physical affair of football against Atletico in the midweek, what kind of game do you expect this weekend?

A losing one. Draw up the drawbridge, wave the white flag, plead for mercy, etc. What am I saying, we're going to batter you! *semi-confident roar*

As an Egyptian who followed Salah closely before, and since you lot snapped him up before we did, I'm curious to know how good do you think he has been for Chelsea this season? Can you see him having a long term future at the club?

Can't complain, he has grasped his limited opportunities well. I'm a big Andre Schurrle fan so will be paying particular attention to the competition between the two for minutes next season. Long term future? Who knows: I thought Yuri Zhirkov was going to be our wing wizard for a decade, you lot probably thought the same of Stewart Downing.

What do you make of Liverpool's turnaround in fortunes this season?

Refreshing... hmm, tough one. We don't like each other but let's face it, you've got Man United and Everton (less so Everton given their great season) to mock if you win the title, our main rivals are Lond... actually, I'm not going to sugar coat it: most of our fans really don't like you at all. Personally, I don't really buy into hatred when it comes to football. Having a close friend here in NZ whose family come from Liverpool helps, I wouldn't begrudge him celebrating the first Liverpool league title of his lifetime considering I've been fortunate enough to see us win three (see what I did there? backhanded compliment, etc? ooh, so proud of myself).

Best and worst memories against Liverpool?

Best: Branislav Ivanovic's double at Anfield. Beating you to book our Champions League spot in 2003.

Worst: Ghost goal at Anfield. The Suarez incident.

Which player do you think will be the key for your team on Sunday?

Schurrle will no doubt start, a lot of responsibility on his shoulders given our lack of bite up front at the moment.

Which Liverpool player are you worried about most on Sunday?

Suarez.

What do you reckon the score will be?

2-2.

If you could have one player from Liverpool, who would you take? Who you send the other way?

Swapsies? Flanagan for Mikel.

Finally in your opinion who has been Chelsea's player of the season? and Chelsea's young player of the season?

Eden Hazard and, erm, Eden Hazard.

1) 8/10. Jose is back, the defence is rock solid, we've competed in the title race until the end and we're 90 minutes away from the CL final. The only things preventing it from being 10/10 is having a top quality striker and hopefully winning a trophy come May. No complaints with our style of play, but I do love watching how passionate and determined we are defensively in the big games.

2) The Sunderland and Villa losses were as much down to completely shocking officiating performances as our own performance. The Palace game we were awful but Palace also played very, very well. I think in the broad sense the extra 12 or so games we have played over Liverpool this season are costing us injury and fatigue wise now.

3) I think we'll rest a few players to be honest, go for the 0-0 and not really dwell on it too long if we lose.

4) He is a fantastic dribbler, has great pace and gets into fantastic positions, then mish*ts his shot and sends it 6 metres wide of the goal. If he can improve his finishing he definitely has the potential to be a starter for years to come.

5) I think it's been a mixture of Suarez being unplayable, Sturridge/Sterling/Coutinho/Henderson really stepping up, Rodgers getting the team right mentally, all the teams around you having European football to distract us, luck, and the constant media pressure to let Gerrard have a league medal causing the refs to bottle key decisions in Liverpool's favour and our detriment.

6) Worst would be the ghost goal.

Best would be the 2005 League Cup final. Gerrard late own goal to send it into extra time, Jose shh'ing the scousers, couldn't ask for anything more.

7) I would have said John Terry, however now that he's injured Cahill really has to step up, as does Luiz or Ivanovic (whichever of the pair will be taking JT's place).

8) Suarez, i'm scared he's going to get all our team sent off with his sh*te antics and if things don't go his way he'll probably try to injury someone.

9) 1-0 to us, even with a weakened team we're very good at the big games

10) I'd take Gerrard, as I know how desperate he is to be here and Lampard needs someone to carry his bags. You can have Torres back.

11)  Hazard could technically be both, or JT as POTY and Haz as YPOTY.

  • So this is Jose's first season back in charge of the blues after two spells at Italy & Spain? How do you rate this season so far out of 10? What has most satisfied you and what has most disappointed you this season in terms of Chelsea's style of play?  8/10 so far with an additional point each if we win the CL or PL and Liverpool don't win the PL
  • You are now competing on two fronts, the league and the CL, how do you think your run in the CL this season affected your league form, given that the losses against Villa, Palace and Sunderland came just before a CL tie?  Not at all - you would expect it to be just after if it affected them.  Our team are used to playing zillions of matches (unlike some, ahem)
  • After a physical affair of football against Atletico in the midweek, what kind of game do you expect this weekend? I was optimistic of a game like Man City away - disciplined and brilliant until we lost Terry and Cech, and possibly Eto'o and Hazard.  Now I think you might sneak it.  But we're a big game team so fingers crossed
  • As an Egyptian who followed Salah closely before, and since you lot snapped him up before we did  :D, I'm curious to know how good do you think he has been for Chelsea this season? Can you see him having a long term future at the club? Early days and he is still settling in but looks promising
  • What do you make of Liverpool's turnaround in fortunes this season?  Honestly gobsmacked and hate it
  • Best and worst memories against Liverpool? Off the top of my head - best -FA cup victory in the 70s when we were a struggling team about to be relegated and you were all-conquering, plus league cup Gerrard og. Worst - CL ghost goal
  • Which player do you think will be the key for your team on Sunday?  Depends who's fit!
  • Which Liverpool player are you worried about most on Sunday? Suarez - not because I think he could be brilliant but because he could be a cheating bar steward
  • What do you reckon the score will be? As already said, I was confident and thought maybe 2-1 or even better.  But know I think I'm more pessimistic until I know the extent of our injuries
  • If you could have one player from Liverpool, who would you take? Who you send the other way?  :DYou can have Hilario.  I don't know who I'd take - obviously Sturridge and Suarez and good but I don't like either of them
  • Finally in your opinion who has been Chelsea's player of the season? and Chelsea's young player of the season? JT and Hazard.  Followed closely by Cahill for POTY

Omar,

  • So this is Jose's first season back in charge of the blues after two spells at Italy & Spain? How do you rate this season so far out of 10? What has most satisfied you and what has most disappointed you this season in terms of Chelsea's style of play?

9/10. With 3 games to go we are in with an outside shout of the league and 90 minutes away from a CL final place. With no great attackers ? Possibly would like to be a bit       more aggressive going forward, and be more ruthless.

  • You are now competing on two fronts, the league and the CL, how do you think your run in the CL this season affected your league form, given that the losses against Villa, Palace and Sunderland came just before a CL tie?

You have to expect tough times when you are playing on so many fronts, so no excuses. Although it must have some effect.

  • After a physical affair of football against Atletico in the midweek, what kind of game do you expect this weekend?

Very difficult to say given the injuries we've sustained. It's obviously not going to be walk in the park for either team, but you probably have the edge now.

  • As an Egyptian who followed Salah closely before, and since you lot snapped him up before we did  :D, I'm curious to know how good do you think he has been for Chelsea this season? Can you see him having a long term future at the club?

A player I have admired for a couple of years as was quite frankly surprised no other PL team had a look at him. He has only been a bit part player so far, but for pace and         guile he looks good. Just needs to spend a few hours on his finishing. (like a few others)

  • What do you make of Liverpool's turnaround in fortunes this season?

Whilst not entirely unexpected, the position has surprised me, but ultimately deserved.

  • Best and worst memories against Liverpool?

      FA Cup 1997, CL penalties.

  • Which player do you think will be the key for your team on Sunday?

Honestly think it will be Gary Cahill.

  • Which Liverpool player are you worried about most on Sunday?

      Raheem Sterling, has looked great.

  • What do you reckon the score will be?

Heart says tight game, maybe a goal to us in it, head says with our injuries it's yours.

  • If you could have one player from Liverpool, who would you take? Who you send the other way?  :D

Raheem Sterling, pace frightens people and he has bags of it. Victor Moses !

  • Finally in your opinion who has been Chelsea's player of the season? and Chelsea's young player of the season?

Gary Cahill putting in a strong shout, and Eden Hazard.

Bugger me, a Liverpool fan who I kinda like on first impression. Since you asked politely. My two pence.

Questions:

  • So this is Jose's first season back in charge of the blues after two spells at Italy & Spain? How do you rate this season so far out of 10? What has most satisfied you and what has most disappointed you this season in terms of Chelsea's style of play?

10 out of 10. He has organised the team well and has made some great tactical choices, most of all, the second leg against PSG. Only thing that's disappointed me is his getting into trouble with the FA. But he is a passionate coach, so I don't really blame him. We have had some absolute idiotic officials. Officials that I hope not to make it into next season.

  • You are now competing on two fronts, the league and the CL, how do you think your run in the CL this season affected your league form, given that the losses against Villa, Palace and Sunderland came just before a CL tie?

Simple really. This goes for all English teams in Europe this season. The FA have been awful in helping English sides with fixture pile ups. Leads to Jose having to experiment with squad rotation on the fly and this isn't exactly ideal. This is why there are so many Spanish teams left in Europe. Their governing body are very accommodating with their European representatives.

  • After a physical affair of football against Atletico in the midweek, what kind of game do you expect this weekend?

Bare bones. We have a lot of players in need of rest for the Atletico return leg, plus the added headache of injured key players and suspended players for next Wednesday and again, no assistance with changing the fixture around for breathing space, so I expect a B team to be fielded as we have absolutely no alternative. I predict a brutal match Sunday and I do not expect to be smiling afterwards.

  • As an Egyptian who followed Salah closely before, and since you lot snapped him up before we did :D, I'm curious to know how good do you think he has been for Chelsea this season? Can you see him having a long term future at the club?

I only knew of him from his double demolition job of us at Basel. So I wanted him to sign. He has been fantastic overall. Still a bit raw and in need of development but he has a great future ahead of him at Chelsea.

  • What do you make of Liverpool's turnaround in fortunes this season?

Not going to touch this one with a 12 foot barge pole

  • Best and worst memories against Liverpool?

Worst was in 96 when you demolished us 5 - 1 when Berger ran rampant on us and one of our players (Sinclair I think?) hit an own goal. Worst hammering I see us get for many years.

  • Which player do you think will be the key for your team on Sunday?

No idea. I have no idea who is or who isn't playing.

  • Which Liverpool player are you worried about most on Sunday?

Suarez and his penalty box theatrics.

  • What do you reckon the score will be?

Hate to guess. Not good if we field a weak team.

  • If you could have one player from Liverpool, who would you take? Who you send the other way? :D

Skrtel and you lot can have Torres back!!!

  • Finally in your opinion who has been Chelsea's player of the season? and Chelsea's young player of the season?

Eden Hazard on both counts. He has been ultra important to us this season. We suffer in creativity without him.

1. A solid 9, Mourinho has been fantastic, If our players were a tad more resolute we would have won the title.

2. Wouldn't say we are in the title contention anymore but yes... Competing in so many fronts has hindered our chances of winning the league, Fatigue and being plagued by injuries at the worst of times have done us i feel.

3. Expecting a similar game again.

4. Salah can become a great squad player, I don't expect more from than that from him.

5. They have been impressive in the league and have used to their advantage the misfortunes of City and Chelsea with injuries.

6. Winning 3-1 at anfield in 2009 and losing in the same stadium in 2005 by the goal that never was.

7. Matic.

8. Suarez.

9. 1-1.

10. Henderson for Romeu.

11. Hazard has been our player this season but i think Schurrle has been more influential to be honest.

Every Chelsea fan and every other club in World football would want Suarez surely ?

Some bizarre replies to this guy.

You deserve the title, best strike force by a mile but wait until we sign Costa. You can have Torres back for sure, you will beat us comfortably and we will repay you for 'throwing' the game at Anfield so we won the league at the expense of United. Has to be Dick K's pen in shootout - Hazard young player, Cahill player of season, Salah will be a top player and might just score our solitary goal Sunday in a 1-4 defeat. Don't think your resurgence will last to be honest - Suarez will leave sooner or later and Gerrard will not go on forever.

I must admit I didn't see Liverpool as champions elect after we deservedly beat you at the end of December. It's a terrific achievement and the football (at least going forward) has been entertaining. I think City are the real losers this year (I know it's not over yet!).

To be honest... I don't like Suarez, I don't like his antics, A world class striker but also an utter c**t.

Too long, didn't read

Thank you for sharing that with us.  I look forward to reading more of your contributions to the Shed End forums.

Man City - talked up by many as possible quadruple winners, now may just get out with the league cup. AHAHAHAHA

Man City need to spend another 200 million to win the quadruple.

I find it puzzling that people here are slagging off Suarez but want Diego Costa. The two are peas in a pod.

Does Costa bite people?
