Andriy Yarmolenko

Featured Replies

Chelsea are weighing up a £12million move for Dinamo Kiev winger Andriy Yarmolenko.

Although Russian born, the 24-year-old is one of the stars of Ukraine's national side along with Liverpool target Yevhen Konoplyanka of Dnipro.

Yarmolenko is 6ft 2ins, quick, powerful and has a decent goals record with 54 in 146 games for Kiev and 15 in 39 for the national side.

Kiev wanted £20m for the left-footed Yarmolenko last summer but are willing to sell for less now.

He has been reluctant to leave Kiev and but a move to London appeals and Roman Abramovich's connections could smooth the way.

Liverpool have shown an interest in the past as have Arsenal but had concerns about the player's consistency.

Liverpool, meanwhile have spoken to Bayern Munich about the cost of Xherdan Shaqiri as Southampton continue to demand £25m for Adam Lallana.

Another winger? Bollocks probably.

If we were to bring in another winger, which is highly unlikely, (this rumour is probably being leaked to drive his price up!), I'd be more inclined to go for sanchez, markovic, or even shaqiri.

TBF at the moment we have 5 attacking midfielders for 6 positions.

And a powerful left-footed winger is something we don't have at all yet.

6 positions? Do u mean 2 for each attacking position? I think 5 is plenty, if we do need a 6th it should come from the youth setup up, rather than pay 10m plus wages for a bit part squad player.

5 is plenty? So if one gets injured and two who are on the pitch are playing badly in a game we're losing?

If a player is in the youth setup and not ready to go on loan elsewhere to get higher quality regular match experience then they aren't going to be able to perform at Chelsea's level.

theres only one way you find out if they're good enough.....

We started the season with 6 last year, and de bruyne barely kicked a ball, and that was in the busiest time of the season. Ramires can also fill in on the right so it is practically 6 options, it would take a fairly epic injury crisis for us to struggle.

You can't buy a load of full internationals on the off chance we get an epic injury crisis.

We could even change to 433 if we were really struggling.

No

We have been linked with Lavezzi and some other attacking mids which makes me think we are on the look out for another attacking mid. If we do buy another one i think he will be a left footed one so he can play on the right and cut on his left like Salah.
