Which Chelsea do you consider your Chelsea?

88/89 - will always have an affinity with the 88/89 team... the roller coaster days, seem to recall at that time it was either championship winning or relegation form... there was no in between with us...

96/97 - for no reason other than the Magician.... I grew up in Naples between 88-91 so my old man would take me along to the Stadio San Paolo to watch the 89/90 championship winning team... who knew as a nine year old surrounded by Napoli's 'ultras' that I was in the presence of greatness (a young Gianfranco Zola obviously, the Argentinian #10 he was playing alongside?? Overrated!) - RIP Matthew Harding

04/05 - after years of "ups" followed by "downs"...

Going to my first game early 1971 was the bizzo. That team will be forever the most glamorous and talked about.

The simple blue kit, the long hair, the beards. Alan Hudson poster on my wall, Osgood number nine on my own Chelsea shirt.

The terrace songs haven't been bettered either.

That era stands out for me, my Chelsea.

Can't go without mentioning the 1977 team. Eddie McCreadie's blue & white army. Great fun home and away.

Exactly the same for me. Most glamorous team in the land by a mile,

Bobby Campbells blue and white ARMY for me. 2nd div champions.

Me too, I'd say broadly 88-92.

Personally liked most of the youth that came through the club around this time:

Le Saux, Stuart, Myers, Lee, Cundy, Matthew etc.

Started following CFC in about 69 / 70....even though my mates and I were not from the immediate London area,(despite every relative we knew was) we used to travel to every home game and games in and around London that we could get to. Get fun in the Shed, loved the rivalry between us and Leeds and it was a magic when we won the Cup in 70...the FA Cup then was actually a major trophy along with the 'League Cup' to win in England unlike now where they are treated as second rate competitions.  Loved the 'Fairs Cup' and Cup Winners Cup competitions in Europe and off course chasing the opposing fans around the dog track!..anyway by the time I was mad enough to join up to go to foreign lands and eventually emigrate sadly I can only watch on TV / internet. I  have not missed any games for the last 5 years...but sadly it appears a lot has changed in terms of fan demographics, the business of football etc...anyway with a tear in my eye..KTBFF. :blue scalf:

The old man turns 61 in a couple of weeks, he's not online but I know he'd say the MCreadie promotion winning side was his,

He's been following Chelsea since 67 but he loved that side the most because of the fact that most of the players were Chelsea youngsters, Finnestone, Langley, Wicks, Wilkins bros. and the rest.

I think Micky Droy is to this day his favourite Chelsea player.

"My Chelsea" given the topic has to be 1983/84 &/or 1984/85. Not for silverware but it was when i started going most weeks (at home + some away) - I was 12/13 at the time.

From history you would have to say 1969-1971. Cannot get enough of reading about them and they were around when i was born. Both magic events lol. or 2004/05.

This one, with a nod to the preceding four or five seasons along with several of the following seasons, and with special mention to the Eddie McCreadie's Blue & White Army promotion season:

Read a book about past legends. Really liked what I read about Cooke and also Hudson. Interesting to delve into past players.

Is it me or do Cooke and McCreadie look like twins!

this feels quite suited to this topic:

According to this the lowest attendance in my lifetime was 12,672 in 1982/3 season.

I know this is incorrect and have checked to confirm. Full members cup v Barnsley 18.11.87. Attendance 8,501. I thought it was smaller than that TBH.

Not sure if we have had smaller in my lifetime (since 1971)

Im going to change my stance again...My chelsea was all the years i belonged......My chelsea ended when seats came in and i was deemed as being just another tourist by the neuvo

always the early 70s ....went to my first match  just after the demolition of the west stand 3 sided ground who remembers the opening home game with leeds ..estimated 55 thousand packed in ..with thousands on the old running track.....4.0 win to boot ..happy days

It's only talking about top-flight league and it's talking about average in a season.
