Which Chelsea do you consider your Chelsea?

If this is a cunning ploy to make me reveal my great age, it has succeeded!

My favourite Chelsea revolves round Ron Harris, Peter Bonetti, Peter Osgood, Bobby Tambling etc

You're wearing well.

My Chelsea is the 2004-05 side. I focused more on that Chelsea side than my school exams ( year 11, the best year of my life ) I have had a sticker of this team in my wallet for 10 years now.

Still one of my favourite sides of all time! The fact so many dreams came true with that side was unbelievable.

I still have fond memories 10 years on as well.

Late 60's-Early 70's.....Bonetti, Harris, Ossie, Baldwin, Hutch, Cooke, Tambling, Hollins, McCreadie etc......playing on sh*te pitch, standing in the Shed!!!!!

Was thinking about this for a while. The team I first really got into was the 93/94 team featuring the goal in my avatar.

Loved Dmitri Kharine because I was a goalkeeper as a youngster, saw some great games like the Spurs 4-3 game, got to go to Wembley twice in my first year of going, had a proper legend as manager and even had a great pair of strikers in Stein and Spencer. Plus you had Wisey, Peacock, Clarke, Newton, Sinclair and two really solid defenders in Kjeldberg and Johnson. Plus about half a dozen left-backs called Anthony or Darren.

But then the team I really had the greatest affinity for and whom I consider my team is probably the team around 97-99. Loved Zola and tell him that every time I bump into him, won the FA Cup, had some proper superstars of football and began to really get somewhere in Europe. Have some amazing memories of being in the new Shed End with my dad, going to more away games than before (and probably since) an being genuine title contenders just five years or so from being in the relegation zone.

What's funny is that I'd also say that this current team reminds me a lot of that, like that we're at the start of something new again. Think for many younger fans, THIS will be their Chelsea.

Like a lot of people I loved the Dixon, Speedie, Nevin years, but also cherish the memories of 96 to about 2005 when we started winning things, and just before SB became an out an out tourist destination.

Fantastic, epic pissups followed the cup in 97- ended up a house party with a load of posh birds by Sloane Square- the Cup Winners Cup in Stockholm, and the Premiership in 2005- I was the mug knocking out replica Premiership drinking trophys to pubs around the ground; made a nice few bob out of it till the premiership/ CFC threatened me with copyright infringement. After the Bolton game didn't go to bed for a couple of nights.

Then bit by bit it didn't seem like the Chelsea Id fallen in love with.

Saw us win the double against Pompey at Wembley at the celebration- pissup, was a tad lukewarm IMO.

For me the Eddie Mac's Blue & White Army years and a couple of seasons after.  Then I got into music, then a relationship which I'm still in with a football hater.  The seasons in the early 80's were terrible but went as much as I could and it was like that until been probably around the turn of the century with the  FA Cup win against ' Boro being the real highlight. I've been to matches every season but these days it's usually the CL or cup games where I have a friend who get me tickets.

Non- League for me these days.

Started following football in 2001 so it's Ranieri's team for me, Hasselbaink, Zola, Gudjohnsen, Desailly, had a bit of a penchant for destroying Spurs!

At the time of our utterly amazing CL win v Bayern Munich May 2012.

Somebody in my former workplace said to me sarcastically: 'Oh and when did you start supporting Chelsea ?'

'Oh about 1975 ! ' was my reply.

And their face was shut !

It's great to read of what we consider to be  'our Chelsea'.

"Where were you, where were you, where were you when you were sh1t?"

"On the benches, on the benches, East stand Stamford bridge"

Or as one of my mates replied to a group of Everton fans on the way to the FA cup final a few years ago "round your house giving it to your sister"

The were only 4 of us, and about 10 of them, but we were a bit older and larger than them and they didn't want to push the issue. Funny that .

I had the same off a Fulham fan, was at my mrs new job xmas do good few years ago, got chatting to some bloke & he brings up football, who do you support he asks me, Chelsea i said, with that he went "old or new fan" so i asked him back who he supported, Fulham was the reply, i said "old or new fan" he said what'd you mean? i said well 4 years ago you were getting 4,000 at home ya c**t.

I then went on a rant about how ive followed us since 1979.

I walked off & funnily enough ive never been invited to another of my mrs works do, cant think why haha.

Ha ha. Nice one. It always made me laugh when Fulham sang "where were you when you were sh*t?" without any hint of irony. Between 86 and 96 I don't think they averaged over 5,000 at home. Then Al Fayed's money changed their fortunes and suddenly they were getting 25,000 in the Prem.

1968 to mid to late 80s.......Best ever for fans and fun

I think I started that year, too. I can vaguely remember England winning the WC in '66 (but my brother tells me I didn't watch it), I can remember Manure winning the EC in 68, and yet I don't remember the '67 final loss to Spurs, so I must have started following Chelsea in '68, when I was 6-7.

Having followed Chelsea from 1969 until i came out here to Spain 15 years ago (hence i have missed all the latest collection of silverware apart from on TV), it is difficult for me to say with any great certainty "which is my era".

However, there have been a lot of matches, a lot of highs and more often lots of lows in all the season´s i have been following the Greatest Club side in the WORLD.

But i suppose "My Chelsea" was probably the side in the mid to late 70´s until the mid to late 80´s. I hardly missed a game during those years , both home and away. Probably the side that game me my best memories was John Neil´s side. That was special in terms of commitment and attitude. The team had a similar attitude to us on the terraces. It was magic (mostly).

Backbiter...with my mind melding lots and lots of of memories into a jumble of wonderous stuff...Not neccesarily in the orders i tell the stories, one things for sure. In no order ill have in my soul etched to death...Greenaway , his tickets n trains....Babs n Eccles...following their groups around....Hickey and his vikings with me in there occasionally...Ill remember the 60 grounds or so ive visited..So many more than a few times....The ends that were taken and the thrill that gave me boy and ...erm...bigger boy.......The women i met around these isles....The comrads that have been and gone.....The parties chelsea boys and girls threw.......The fun the fear the happy and the hurt.......I just wish the nouvo chelsea fans could have experienced these things...They just look at us as old farts now......The chelsea side noe is a winning one...The teams we put out in late 60s thru mid 70s in the greatest bunch of men , footballers ever..I dont only include our lot..I include Liverppol  Leeds etc .....Sides teams and men never to be seen again......I know im a nostalgia freak but i really REEAALLLY miss those days of winning f**k all but having wonderous wonderous days......I think ill die now...bye
