Is There a Media Campaign Against Chelsea?

Featured Replies

You're defending the actions of something purely because you understand it.

I'm explaining it, but I also tend to think the current system is pretty good. A free market media system allows for a diversity of views which means that people can find what they want - if they want to find evidence that supports the notion of an agenda then they can, and there are probably supporters of every club who believe that.

Good post though that I don't disagree with.

Pictured: Father who blamed police for not stopping his daughter joining ISIS screams 'burn USA' - and stands just feet from Lee Rigby's killer - at Muslim demo.

One of the pictures they use?

:laugh2:  :laugh2:

During England's game last night Danny Welbeck did one of the most blatant in the box dives ever yet the commentators were screaming for a pen (well Sky highlights not sure what they were like on ITV). Not really to do with the so called "campaign" but shows media has bias towards certain players and also likely cause it was England.

yeah been hearing the same on talksport, apparently it's a disgrace that such a mediocre team will be crowned champions

if we've been so poor and undeserving of the title then they should be slagging off their own teams for being even worse than us

when we were among the chasing pack i would would sit on my couch watching man united play especially in the 08-09 and 10-11 seasons hoping for them to drop points, often they'd play piss poor towards the back end of the season but scrape it near the end or grind out a tough game from start to finish in the same fashion we've been doing.

back then it was called "a sign of a champion team being able to win despite playing poorly" but when it's us, it's "lucky lucky chelsea"

Yeah it's a joke

People in SKy Sports, Talksports I mean everywhere, fans of Arsenal, United etc. don't think we deserve to win the title.. I can only laugh at them.

Arsenal say they deserve to win because of their godlike form in 2015... but still they forget that they've only accumulated 6 more points than so called sluggish Chelsea who have been dire and don't deserve to win the title just for the sake of it and mind you Chelsea have played 1 game less, so it's 3 more points(assuming we get 3 off liecester) despite Arsenal being in their best form over some seasons...

We have earned more points than Liverpool, United and City. I know you might say we've escaped with some lucky wins.... well that's logical, every team who have won the league have won many games on luck.. even United

People say we are lucky to win against Stoke... I think they have no knowledge of football then I assume. We were by far the best team for whole match created more than them, scored more, threatened them more everything, the only goal they scored was a mistake of the GoalKeeper.

Against Hull you say we were lucky? I don't think so, we scored 2 goals and then they equalized with a Courtois mistake... and again we scored and won... how can you call it lucky? It's called grit.. and every champions need it.

It's not Chelsea's problem that our rivals team has been beyond **** for majority of the season and coming back to form at the time when it's late... although it's not that late.. Arsenal and co. are still not yet out of the race...

If you think we've been lucky, than Arsenal, United have been lucky many times as well, Arsenal was dead lucky to get 3 points from that Newcastle, Newcastle absolutely battered them. Arsenal also weren't that convincing against QPR, Crystal Palace.. etc.

We have had 5-8 points lead over 2nd place for majority of the season.. and if still you people think we don't deserve it, I think you're braindead kids who know nothing of football.

You know the fact is no teams can sustain their top form for whole season, I mean no team not even Madrids' Barca's etc.

But the thing is the teams gets the title who grit through these tough periods and get those points no matter how bad they've played. That's the real mark of the Champions.

I know it's long but well....

No definitely no campaign...after slagging off our players and our performance, this from the mirrors match report in Mondays paper...

What a shame Stoke’s Charlie Adam could not have earned something from the game after his contender for Goal of the Season.

Funny thing is that just a couple of months back, everyone was wondering if this one of the great premiership teams of all time. Memory is a funny twisted thing.

It's classic media ploy of building someone or something up to knock them down later..they were the ones that said this was best chelsea team ever after just a few games, Keown said it was best pl team in history...ridiculous...meanwhile chelsea kept saying 'too early, not won anything yet etc' ...despite this, they're now having to defend themselves over a tag they never gave themselves in the first place!

Just goes to show that it's how you're playing towards the back end of the season that counts, it's same when team of the year etc are done.

There's talk all over that Arsenal have played the best football this season, I'd agree they are right now but most of the top teams have had a patch yet we played the best football for several months at the start yet it's forgotten.

Did anyone elso notice all the 'Haters gonna hate' advertising around the pitch for the Stoke game, I'm sure that was a poke in the eye to the media.

It's been there for a while, SP. Wish it wasn't in red though.

Edit: Made its first outing in the home leg against Liverpool. The red really rankled with me that night !!!!!!!

Ah my eyes must be getting better with old age then as I only noticed it this week.

I knew it was the adidas campaign, just hadn't seen it plastered all over the bridge before.

My bad SP. Quite apt though as you say.
