March 25, 201511 yr If you can't read it for whatever reason it reads: 'CHELSEA FC PARTNER IS NAMED OVER FRAUD RAID'
March 25, 201511 yr On my way to work this morning, I switched over to TalkSport for the sports headlines. The Moose was on, now we all know he's a twat but here was the line, Martin Skirtel has contested his charge for STEPPING on David De Gae! So in the clearest case of a stamp that was missed by a ref, in living memory, a prominent radio station has decided to call it STEPPING on! Contrast the situation to Diego Costa, which was ambigous at best, which the same radio station blasted STAMP at every possible occassion! But no, the media in all forms don't treat us any differently! Yoour ball Blue Daze.
March 25, 201511 yr So we are exclusive then, just CWM and us; we have no other partners and they have no other partners.
March 25, 201511 yr On my way to work this morning, I switched over to TalkSport for the sports headlines. There was this simple lad I used to play rugby with. One day he saw a dog sh*t on the pitch. He decided to roll in it. Imagine his surprise when he smelt like dog sh*t. This is the front page of the City newspaper this morning. Now with that headline are you thinking it's an individual or a huge company that have MANY partners? Yep, it's a bloody company CWM, who the f*ck?! It looks like they & CFC have some sort of marketing deal in place. Then that's it, it then goes onto the actual fraud story. Sigh. That story just makes me want to go to the Duck and Waffle. Fantastic restaurant. Anyway, very few would've heard of CWM FX, more people would've heard of Chelsea ergo you hook more people in by referring to them in that way. Or would you have taken as much notice of this story without Chelsea being in the headline? Unless you're already interested in FX markets I doubt it. If there was a Eurofood scandal in Cambodia then no-one would care. But MANCHESTER UNITED'S SWEET PARTNER IN GUMDROP SCANDAL is a story than I'd read.

March 25, 201511 yr Could you be a bigger cock? No need for that. If you listen to TalkSport you have to expect to hear some rubbish, just like if you read certain tabloids. No offence intended.
March 25, 201511 yr Oh no offence taken. But further evidence that if it's against Chelsea you can't see it! What would it take for you to see it?
March 25, 201511 yr Oh no offence taken. But further evidence that if it's against Chelsea you can't see it! What would it take for you to see it? A convincing argument with compelling evidence. Do you also expect someone to insinuate your simple? I wasn't implying he was simple, the lad in the story was simple. I don't go around implying people are something on the internet because that's the act of a coward so I'd like to make it doubly clear I wasn't doing that to ShedPensioner. If he even thought that then I apologise. Wasn't my intention but I can see how it would be misconstrued.

I wouldn't, personally I couldn't care less what a company affiliated with any football club get up to. To sell it (well, it’s a free paper, so they don’t need to sell) that way is lazy, when I saw ‘CHELSEA FC’ and ‘FRAUD’ when I initially took the paper I thought ‘Oh what are we supposed to have done this time’… turns out, sweet f**k all.
March 25, 201511 yr I was interested in hearing the logical steps in justifying why there is nothing wrong with that headline. Didn't think it could be done but there you go. Journalistic integrity and ethics has been tossed in the bin just to make sure you can generate enough fake interest to move papers. Edited March 25, 201511 yr by Stim

So you picked up a newspaper you might not have otherwise. That's the intention of it. As it is companies pay a lot to be associated with this club, so you can't complain when they're associated with this club (as was the London Boat Show apparently, poor seamen). Journalistic integrity and ethics has been tossed in the bin just to make sure you can generate enough fake interest to move papers. The main story on the Mail sidebar is 'David Beckham is topless' and 'Kelly Brook has big boobs'. I realise that I attract some ire for being a 'media apologist' but I think half the time it's because I'm just honest about how the media operates. It doesn't require 'logical steps' simply one thing: an acknowledgement that newspapers (in fact any type of media largely speaking) are a money-making exercise. They're not there to simply report facts. Edited March 25, 201511 yr by Blue Daze
March 25, 201511 yr nothing wrong with the headline - is just a free paper trying to make a boring story interesting by putting Chelsea FC in it. It also mentions the director of this company "met princess anne" at a boat show... this is just how newspapers operate, if there is no story make one up. CWM Fx have also not been charged with anything yet so the real headline should be CWM FX raided by police. But since nobody has heard of them...
March 25, 201511 yr So you picked up a newspaper you might not have otherwise. That's the intention of it.Nope, I always pick it up.
March 25, 201511 yr Nope, I always pick it up. But others might not and they may well see CHELSEA in the headline and pick it up, no?

'PRINCESS ANNE'S BOAT FRIEND CAUGHT IN FRAUD RAID'We're just being used to grab people's attention, when they read on and realise it's really got f**k all to do with Chelsea they'll chuck it without seeing all the wonderful ads. FYI, I get it for the crossword.
March 25, 201511 yr But others might not and they may well see CHELSEA in the headline and pick it up, no?Judging from the amount of people who barge past the guy handing them out, no.I'd like to know what increase in sales the companies who advertise in these papers receive as a result on having a negative Chelsea reference in the title. My guess is not an awful lot.
March 25, 201511 yr The only big clock I've come across here is Spudulike, I mean that as a compliment. He seems a genuine all round guy, the type you'd like to have a pint with, do a bit of climbing with in a non forum sense. A real man. There may well be some willy waggling here, as in other sectors of life, and that highlights how the ladies here are just that, ladies. They don't bitch, argue, use crude expressions when polite language could easily be used. They are not uptight though and use a well chosen saucy word or two when it suits the occasion as it were. Hope I haven't embarrassed Spud, that was not my intention, I mention him as he is one who has appealed to Blue Daze as did Mod Stark. There are other guys here who are just like Spud, too many to mention, I said Spud prompted by the Spurs emblem. So, big up to you guys and gals and Keep Calm And use The ignore Button (If I was IT able I'd make one of those posters)
March 25, 201511 yr Wonder if the tabloids will say Disgraced TV Presenter and Chelsea fan Jeremy Clarkson axed
March 25, 201511 yr Wonder if the tabloids will say Disgraced TV Presenter and Chelsea fan Jeremy Clarkson axed Clarkson's sacking comes just weeks after Chelsea fans were reported to be using racist language on the Paris Metro. His attack on his producer is reminiscent of Diego Costa's stamp on Emre Can.

They're not there to simply report facts. You're defending the actions of something purely because you understand it. I dont follow that logic. I understand why a lot of despicable things are done, but that doesnt make me feel the need to defend or try and justify their actions. Its unethical and highly lacking in integrity regardless what their motives are. It's also an ineffective tactic that does more to drive away subscribers than gain them.
