Let's talk about Hazard

Featured Replies

I know who I'd rather have in my team though. They may be similar in ability but Hazard just oozes class and demands respect from all sets of fans for his unselfishness, the way he just gets on with his game tackle after tackle without moaning and how much he works for the team.

Neymar on the other hand is a twat.

totti? what in the actual f**k? iniesta and isco are in another league when it comes to ball control compared to totti

Got to take exception there mate, Totti is pure class, as good technically as any one in europe, checks his goals in Serie A, a simply fabulous football player, his best days are gone, but a 1 club legend........

Hazard has this incredible ability to create openings and chances for his teammates almost at will, even in seemingly harmless positions, with his astonishing dribbling ability, close control and creativity. He can seemingly twist and turn on his weaker side just as effortlessly as he can on his stronger side.

Case in point in that Stoke match, he beat a Stoke player on the right flank simply by turning on his weaker side, before he laid it off to Drogba, whose deflected shot was saved by Begovic. Apart from Messi, I've never seen a player change direction so quickly before, it's simply ridiculous. Or that chance he created for Cuadrado when Stoke's defense was very organised. Hazard plays the one-two with the striker (a trade-mark attribute of his) and he's penetrated their backline, serving it on a plate for Cuadrado. And he does it virtually every game. It's stuff like that that blows my mind. Stuff even other world class players can't manage. It's what makes him special.

This season's version of Hazard, well, there's no point comparing this version to Neymar or Bale or all these hyped pretenders. Hazard has reached a different level, a new gear. It's they who need to try and catch Eden now. Instead I choose to compare him to Messi or Ronaldo like Terry, Langley, Nevin and Cahill have done, that's his new level now. His all round game is vastly superior to Ronaldo's, who is more of a goalscorer these days and a glory hunter who only cares for himself.

Simply put, I'm enormously delighted in him. He's by far the best player in the PL, and that's saying something considering the quality of players like Aguero. He's become the 3rd best player on the planet in a very competitive period in football. I still feel his future in the centre, closer to goal though. Messi was moved to the centre by Guardiola, and that took him to an even higher peak. The same can be done with Hazard. He's achieved what he wanted to achieve on the left flank. I don't see him making a significant improvement there next season. That will also free up the wide position for a Bale or Reus, another world class option behind the striker, which I feel is an absolute must to take Chelsea and Hazard to a new level.

Believe, 'la' is not correct, The special one!

Should ask Moi.

Well of course it's not, unless Eden has been hiding something from us.

But I am more concerned by the lack of reaction to the Liquidator's articulate post.

I'll sneak in a criticism - and it's that he doesn't shoot enough. It may just be the team's instructed not to attempt shots from distance, I very rarely see anyone other than Oscar attempting from range, but he's definitely got that in his locker.

As for the positive - I've no idea where to start... absolutely incredible, and pretty much un-tackleable (I'm not sure if that's a word, but if it is there's a picture of Hazard next to it in the dictionary).

One of his most memorable goals for me, absolute beauty, don't like thinking about it too much because it reminds me of The Waiter but nevertheless what a strike. Seems like just yesterday we watched him holding our shirt for the first time as a boy, now as a man he is dominating the league and carrying us to the title. What a guy

Watching Messi and Hazard, I still think Hazard is more suited to the winger role than Messi and vice versa. Messi dribbles with short sharp turns with the ball sticking to his feet and better finishes even when he was in the wing which is ideal for a striker role as there isn't much space in the box. Hazard usually dribbles with big turns and with the ball thrown in to huge spaces making him the more perfect winger . I still love him at the wing than at a central role. Maybe I might be wrong though.

Well here is one video to enjoy. I apologize if its been posted before. Absolutely 7:35 minutes of football orgasm. I just love Hazard.
