Your Favourite Prem player outside Chelsea?

I've always had a soft spot for Newcastle's Steven Taylor. Not at all glamourous or slick, just meat-and-potatoes defending from him, when he's not injured anyway. Sadly, he's fallen a bit off the radar lately.

Probably someone like Cambiasso, pure quality who came to Leicester for some reason. Once saw him signing autographs while on the way to work, shouted to him that he's a legend.

In terms of quality players I appreciate despite affiliation, you have David Silva, Pablo Zabaleta, Santi Cazorla and Ander Herrera off the top of my head.

And then there are always the hilarious players like Angel Rangel, Youssouf Mulumbu, Leon Osman, Billy Jones, Elmohamedy, Mohamed Diamé, Peter Crouch, Ryan Taylor...

Outside the Premier League there can only be one though, this magnificent bar steward:

Favourites probably not the right word but admire would be a good word, I do really like Harry Kane. I know he plays for Spurs but I just love the lads attitude and the way he plays, think he's gonna be a joy to watch for years to come.

Guys like Sanchez, Coutinho etc I also admire but can't bring myself to say I like them cause they play for the two teams I hate the most in the league.

Ignoring ability and excluding Chelsea players (so no Lampard or Mata), my favourite player has to be Peter Crouch.

With regards to who is the most aesthetically pleasing, I'd agree with Coutinho.

Interesting that Crouch is getting a few votes, I always felt his technique and contribution to the national side went largely unnoticed.

I've only ever heard him spoken of as a joke or in one occasion with contempt, then again this is a Man Utd fan who lists Agbonlahor as one of his favourite players because he's "good on FIFA" so he isn't to be taken too seriously.

I was talking the other day about this to someone so thought I'd put it to the forum.

Hands down, I'd pick Mata but discounting ex Chelsea players, my pick is Coutinho; absolute quality!

Yours?

Exactly what I thought when I read the topic title!

Crouch FTW.

Journo "so, Peter, if you hadn't been a footballer, what do you think you would have been instead?"

Crouch "er... A virgin?"

I'm a fan of any player who has come through the divisions and proved themselves premier league quality. Ashley Williams, yannick Bolasie and Charlie Austin spring to mind. Not Ashley Barnes though.

To be honest I'm quite fond of a few of Burnley's players: Ben Mee seems like a good lad, Trippier is a decent attacking full-back and his partner in crime on the right George Boyd has a surprising amount of quality both going forward and defensively, if not the stamina. Scott Arfield is hilarious to watch too, zipping around thoughtlessly like a terrier, he's like a sh*t Ramires. A shout-out for Matty Taylor too, the best left foot in the bottom half until he was supplanted by Andy Reid. I also find it funny that such a large proportion of their players are left-footed.

Arsenal: Sanchez has been the difference this season for them. Not only finishing top four but also competing with us for the title!!

Tottenham: Harry Kane taking them all the way to carling cup final, what a player to have in your team.

Manchester United: has to be Juan and Rooney and especially Juan. The transformation he had in United, and the player we all know what he's capable of when he is in form is scary. Rooney simple, he is a goal machine

Man City : well frank like some said because he's a chelsea legend ;)

I like Cazorla, Ki, Herrera and McCarthy.

I like Ki and McCarthy too, both good, robust but technically capable midfielders with plenty of stamina.

Ivanovic loves McCarthy too:

Yeah, I think they would be top 'squad players' for us. I'd certainly take either of them over Ramires.
