Paulo Dybala - Palermo's #9, soon to be Chelsea's?

Paulo Dybala's agent claims Chelsea have offered nearly £30million for the forward who has also been a target for Arsenal.

The Palermo star is one of the most coveted players in Europe this summer although his club are looking for £36m to sell him.

Dybala’s representative, Gustavo Mascardi, said: “Paris St Germain have already come forward with an offer of about £32.4m and Chelsea had already reached £28.8m.

“We’re now at the stage where the price cannot be lower than €50m (£36m). Paulo is in no hurry and will take his decision calmly.”

The 21-year-old has scored 13 times and provided 10 assists in 30 Serie A matches for his club this term.

Obligatory YouTube video.

Agent just trying to raise the fee? Would he really be worth £25m + or as the agent claims, £36m+?

If he turns out to be the real deal then yeah he'd be worth it, however for me that kind of money should be spent on tried and tested players.

We'd be spending over £30 million on what would be a back up striker....can't see it myself.

Although he can play in other positions can't he?

Hazard went for 32 mil and he was the brightest young talent in Europe at the time, so unless this guy is as highly rated as Eden was then this sounds like a rip off.

I don't think £30m is excessive for a 21 year striker personally.

He's a left footed attacker which is something we are missing as well.

I've said before I'm not sure I see Remy staying beyond this season and it's twice this season he's been injured when we've needed him, what use is your back up striker if he isn't fit?

Would make more sense than the Cuadrado signing did. I suppose we'll have to wait and see, we've supposedly tabled a bid but whether we'll continue our interest should it develop into a bidding war I don't know.

Of the clubs rumoured to be interested it's us, PSG, I've seen Arsenal and Juventus linked with him too and I can't say I see him being out and out first choice at any of those clubs so should it be up to the player to choose it will just come down to his preference I suppose.

The market has changed even in that short a space of time.

We got an absolute steal when we got Hazard. I think you have to look at transfer fees and it is generally strikers going for the most money and I think £25m+ for sought after players is generally the going rate.

Remember Everton paid £28m for Lukaku for example.

In regards to Lukaku it’s important to remember he played in a World Cup and had 2 very good seasons as a starter for West Brom and Everton in the EPL before making that move.

His experience is much more vast that this young lad’s is in fariness.

His World Cup was pretty dire though wasn't it? I doubt that added anything to his value.

Dybala at 21 has made around 90 Serie A appearances which is pretty decent going for any young striker.

Only thing I would question is if we can get a work permit for Dybala seeing as the FA are being much stricter on non EU players now and the "exceptional talent" rule might not cut it.

That's true he wasn't great but his expierence is far greater than this lads so far, plus the fact he was a proven goal scorer in the EPL which added to his value.

Forgot about the work permits, can't see that being easy. How many caps has he got?

As far as I can tell none at senior or U21 level.

That will be pretty hard then.

Although given we have made an enquiry already going by the OP we must be pretty confident of getting past any permit issues?

I'm sure Oscar had a few caps when we brought him in but can't remember if it was very much or not.

If we spend 30 million on one, and the other one is free - which one do you think will see game time? We arn't going to keep Costa and two young strikers like that happy. Save your self 30 million, put it towards the bale transfer even :)

The Bale transfer is just a pipe dream now sadly, no matter how much l would like to see that one happen I don't think he is going to be leaving Madrid.

In a purely hypothetical situation that Remy left the club and Drogba retired/left on a free and we ended up buying Dybala and recalled Bamford I agree that because money was spent on Dybala he would probably get the initial chances but I reckon Bamford would be given plenty of chances to show what he can do as well. Both being left footed forwards as well I think Mourinho would be looking to use one or both out on the right during the closing stages of games and cutting in on their preferred foot, which is how he seemed to envisage using both Mata and Salah when they played.

Of all the millions of transfers we're being linked with though, a young pacey, strong left footed attacker is one that I am very much open to.

I haven't given up on Bale - the League title add's a bit of wight to the appeal. He's likely leaving Madrid with his destination either Manchester or us IMO. If not Bale then Maybe Reus.

I dunno, Madrid are only going to let him go if they've got someone big lined up to replace him and star studded all action right wingers are hard to come by at the moment... Especially after we signed Cuadrado *ahem*

Stupidly talented and along with Kane, Lacazette and Vietto is one of the best young strikers out there with so much potential.

Not the finished article yet by any means, but could become the new Aguero.

Just trying to bump the fee up, Move along i say

Can that be the case if we've actually tabled a £28m bid though?

Apparently he doesn't have a release clause so an opening bid is just testing the waters to see if we are anywhere near to Palermo's valuation before deciding whether or not to continue negotiations.

We just spent £27m on a player from Italy who can't get a game, let's not go down this road again unless the kid is absolutely world class.
