I liked the first season of Mr Robot but found the second quite boring and confusing, and lost interest after that.

I'd highly advise you to give it another go. The second season was definitely a lot more slow paced than the other three as it focused more on character development and the bumpy relationship between Elliot and Mr. Robot. Once you watch seasons 3 and 4, I think you'll appreciate season 2 a lot more as a whole.

I have been thinking about it, since I really enjoyed the first season. Is the character development in season 2 important to be able to appreciate season 3? It’s been quite a while since I watched it and my memory‘s a disaster at the best of times.

Mr robot, best TV series the past decade easily.

Ah, I watched the first season with the ex and we split up just before the second came out so I wasn’t interested. Might catch back up with it.

Haven't seen any of those and I don't get the triss reference...

Triss is a character from The Witcher (books from Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski which were adapted in to video game series and now a TV show on Netflix). The description of her in the books is nothing like her appearance in the series.

There's been a weird purge of redheads going on in Scifi and fantasy adaptations recently. Even iconic redheads aren't safe. It would be more understandable if Triss' actress was good but she was really really terrible in all her scenes. God knows what's going to happen when she has a bigger role in the next series...

That aside, The Witcher was great and Cavil was perfect. Think lots of reviewers went in wanting Game of Thrones and instead got a series where the fantasy elements are at the forefront instead of the politics. It's not perfect (the time shifting was poorly done, it needed more explanations of lore and the CG and green screening are too noticable) but the time whizzed by watching it and I've still got Toss a Coin to Your Witcher stuck in my head.

I tried to watch the Witcher on Netflix and I couldn't finish the first episode, just looks very rushed and I don't like the constant name dropping of places and people that are never presented, impossible to care about the characters...

I also tried to watch the BBC Dracula that's also on Netflix, the first episode was great but the whole show turned to be a total waste of time...

Series 4 of the Expanse was as excellent as I hoped, now looking forward to series 5.

Just started watching Start Trek Discovery, darker and more drama driven than the other star trek stuff so far, quite enjoying it.

I think they just tried to put too much in to the first season of The Witcher, it basically covers the first two books (which  are actually the last two full of lots of little stories as a prequel to the whole series). They’re are full of lots of little stories, a lot of which was missed out on.

I watch the first two episodes of Dracula and have been told to not bother with the last one because it’s terrible!

I'm amazed you got that far Munky.  I forced myself to stay till the end of episode 1 and that was a struggle.  I managed to convince myself that episode 2 couldn't be as bad, because it was Gatis, after all.  Managed 5 minutes and then deleted it.  Same with the Christmas Carol on the Beeb.  They are trying way too hard to be youf-ish and zanny.

Yeah I couldn't handle that Dracula, just too camp and "wacky".

I somehow got to the 3rd episode and I was amazed by how bad it was and I couldn't continue, at the point when they have him locked up and for no reason leave a tablet in his prison and then he figures out how it works and someone ends up saying "Who gave Dracula the wifi password" wow, just...wow.

For me, the best ever Dracula experience was listening to a talking book of the original Stoker novel in headphones lying next to the pool in the Luxor Sheraton in Egypt in temperatures over 100 degrees. Was scary as f**k.

Ha ha, now Im definitely glad I gave up in it early.

On that note though, how about Stath lets flats? What are folks views on that? We've watched every episode and some of them are cringeingly bad, but we still watch the next one. It's one of those programmes you watch and say that was rubbish, but still kinda funny.

I love it, brilliant show. A couple of poor episodes but the majority are good.

Also, love taskmaster. Some amazing shows over the 10 series.

Taskmaster is generally very funny and can be hilarious at times, although I though the most recent series was let down by a very weak selection of guests. David Baddiel and Jo Brand were the worst. They seemed to think that it would be funny to just be useless and half-arsed at all the tasks but it got old very quickly. Hopefully with it moving to C4 they'll be able to get some better quality quests on for the next series.

Love Taskmaster, it’s moving to Channel 4 so we might see a few ‘bigger names’ on it. Nobody will ever beat Paul Chowdry for most useless contestant mind

Saw little Alex Horne & The Horne Section live in November, hilarious.
