It was probably the bleakest and most boring BBC adaption I have ever seen. I stayed with it but thankfully it finished last night and I've a good mind to write to the BBC and request part of my licence fee back - it was THAT bad!! Unbelievable they could make such a hash of a classic book. Better to stay with Jeff Wayne and Richard Burton's audible narration.

It was an absolute mess and missed out huge parts of the story.

I got about 15 minutes into the first episode and gave up - was dire and trying way to hard to be moody and clever. I have a download of the Orson Welles radio play of War of the Worlds from the 30's which is incredibly good, and my favourite version of all.

It'll surely go down as one of the greatest TV episodes of all time. As a whole it seems to be such an underrated series. By the way, here's what Elliot Villar (the actor who plays Fernando Vera) sounds like in real life. The difference is staggering! https://youtu.be/pM1qY9Fafgs?t=58

My only worry is it ends up with time travelly daftness.

I think it's a machine to link parallel universes, but expect time travel with so many hints at it. I wonder who the other person in Elliotts head is too, the one his mother referred to. December 8, 20196 yr Think I'll watch this evening. Looks powerful and moving. Glenda Jackson was interviewed about it on BBC Radio 4 this morning. She is a wonderful actress and it will be her first television role in 25 years. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000c6pv 80-year-old Maud is funny, loyal and endearing. She is also living with dementia, which plays havoc with her memory but hasn’t yet diminished her strong stubborn streak. When her best friend Elizabeth fails to turn up for a shopping trip, Maud is certain something terrible has happened. Turning detective, she sets about trying to solve the mystery of her friend’s disappearance. But with Maud's dementia progressing, it is not easy to hold on to the clues. Despite her meticulous system of recording her discoveries on post-it notes, she can’t shake the feeling that she has lost a crucial clue that would unlock the mystery of Elizabeth’s fate.

Hopefully the 2 hour(?) finale doesn't leave us with more questions than answers. I thought Tyrell Wellick's appearance was quite odd. It was almost as if he knew exactly what was going on and was hoping Elliot did too? I'm honestly very confused right now. As you said, it could possibly be his 3rd alter. By the way, good call earlier about Whiterose's project. You were spot on there. Edited December 17, 20196 yr by Amputechture
December 17, 20196 yr Tyrell appearing threw me, I have no idea what was going on there. A lot of the watches and clocks had the same time on them too, 11.something. I just hope they don't go full on lost in the last episode. Edited December 17, 20196 yr by dkw

I watched The Witcher in one sitting on Friday, it’s only 8 episodes but they’re all over an hour long. Loved it but I loved the last game and I’m making my way through the books too so I may be biased. Only one thing that really annoyed me...

Google tells me it is "A calculation of the probability that an injured person will survive serious trauma." or " The naturally ocurring phenomenon of human hair loss. Human equivalent of shedding." What that has do do with anything I have no idea.

December 24, 20196 yr I liked the first season of Mr Robot but found the second quite boring and confusing, and lost interest after that. I‘m currently working my way through Succession and Barry, both are excellent and both are from HBO. Is it just me or has Netflix really gone downhill, at least for drama?
