John Stones

Now you are being ignorant to facts. I try not to have to repeat myself but you asked a question. The media were informed before each bid and comments made by Chelsea staff were designed to unsettle a player being given the freedom to learn his trade under martinez. Had this not been the case then this might have had some legs but please admit you club made a mess on this

And you have evidence of this, or is it just your tin foil hat has slipped over your eyes?

I'm sure you believe substituting Jt was not a publicity stunt either. Your managers arrogance will eventually be your downfall.

And what will Martinez's arrogance be to you guys?

Stones will be here in 12 months time and all this summer's delaying tactics will do is stop a few top quality kids wanting to join Everton(or at the very least put a buyout clause in their contracts).

The proof is in the pudding my friend. I'm not going over old ground again. Before I go I would also like to add I am not anti Chelsea or any other club for that matter. It's only a game at the end of the day! I wish you all luck and safety on your travels this season!

So its your opinion, not fact then. Your entire statement is based in supposition and rumour.

Last one this I promise. The city of Liverpool has always been a production line for world class footballers. Add to this the fact that there is opportunity for young players to develop at a premier league club tells me we will have no problem whatsoever in attracting emerging talent. Our problems arise when we try to attract established top class players.

When I have time to type them all I will. Until then I have bigger fish to fry!

I always thought Fred Elliot was a butcher, not a fish and chip shop worker... you live and learn.

Chelsea will make another attempt to sign John Stones in January despite the arrival of Papy Djilobodji from Nantes.

The club agreed a £2.7m fee for Djilobodji yesterday, but he is merely seen as a cheap back-up option after missing out on Stones this summer.

Chelsea stepped up their search for other options after Everton turned down a £38m offer last week.

But the Blues remain convinced that they will be able to secure a transfer in the future, especially as the 21-year-old asked to leave for Stamford Bridge.

Stones is seen as the long-term replacement for captain John Terry and Chelsea will not give up the hunt.

Everton ended up rejecting four bids from the defending champions, with offers of £20m, £26m and £30m lodged over the past six weeks.

The Merseyside club consistently stated that the England international wasn't for sale.

Chelsea's chances of convincing them to change their mind weren't helped by left back Leighton Baines suffering a serious ankle injury last month.

Chairman Bill Kenwright has also come under increasing pressure from frustrated fans over his spending policy in recent weeks. A protest, which included flying a banner over St Mary's Stadium during their match against Southampton, put even more onus on the club to keep Stones.

Manager Jose Mourinho, defender Gary Cahill and Terry have made no secret of their desire for the move to take place.

As revealed by Standard Sport in March, Chelsea had added PSG star Marquinhos to their wish-list and they had an inquiry for the Brazil international rejected last week after the Stones deal collapsed.

I will start by saying my nickname started as the butcher because of my love of knives. In the mid 90s someone decided to call me Fred Elliott which stuck. I am neither butcher or Ian beale but am employed by high profile celebrities actors and even footballers whilst visiting our city. This enabled me to act as proxy for a fairly high stakes shareholder and get much closer to the club I love. Over the years I have made many friends within the club and no I don't sit in on board meetings!

The feeling within the club was all and sundry knew what was coming before EFC knew. I understand in today's world of sky sports this will happen but all was far too close to the mark to be a fluke. Added to the mix was Jt gc your manager commenting on each occasion they were asked to. It was decided not to entertain Chelsea. Even now I've been informed willian has decided to comment. The message was loud and clear from the outset he was not for sale. As was also mentioned in a previous post the substituting of Jt was also viewed as a publicity stunt. No I don't have written evidence but only an understanding from within the club. I know EFC better than most and at times felt we might cave in.

Fish is more appropriate than meat in this instance perhaps.  It was 'this big', fishy tales and so on, cod philosophy...

Willian trolling?

@ChelsTransfer: Willian on John Stones: "He is a good defender. I heard some news - of course there is nothing concrete, but I've heard about it." #CFC #EFC

Obviously I don't know if it's genuine or when it was even said... Or the context either.

I will be gobsmacked if, after they've resisted for so long and publicly told their fans and everyone else that it won't happen, it happens in the closing hours of the window.

Strange timing for that Willian quote though, unless it was made a few days ago?
