December 12, 20159 yr Good point, not evey manager would agree though, I'm not denying how good Gerrard was, easily world class, but you would pick him over Lamps? Gerrard didn't get second place in the player of the year votes in 05, nor did he score as many goals, his assists tally isn't much more impressive, people say he's better because he played in a worse team, I think that's nonsense. December 13, 20159 yr I assume he must want gung-ho tackling as opposed to intelligent positioning from his number 10.

January 2, 20169 yr Obviously a 'Chelsea' tinted team haha :P  Management: Mourinho & the 2005 team including Clarke/AVB etc...  ---------------------------------------P. Cech---------------------------------------  -----Neville--------Cannavaro-----------------J. Terry------------A. Cole-----   ---------------Zidane--------------Makelele------------Lampard----------------   --------------L. Essien S. Gerrard R. Giggs T. Henry

January 2, 20169 yr from players I've watched enough?   .................................buffon  thuram..........nesta,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,terry..........maldini  .............................makelele ................xavi.........................zidane  ........messi..................................c.ronaldo ..............................ronaldo   goalkeeper and central defence were nearly impossible to pick. really difficult to overlook ronaldinho, totti, shevchenko etc... but cristiano ronaldo and messi basically walk in immediately and demand you can only pick one other forward. and xavi, zidane and makelele for me are easy picks so people like keane, vieira, ballack, lampard, deco and iniesta are, amazingly, instantly discounted.  anyway that's vaguely the best 11 I've seen in their positions without cheating and putting people out of position, but I could probably come up with a better team. cafu would be a rightback in that team for example. Edited January 2, 20169 yr by g3.7
January 2, 20169 yr Did one before, but this is the one I probably like more. Guess it's not necessarily the best of all time, but more of a 'favourite' ultimate XI - without turning it into an ultimate Chelsea XI. Thuram Zambrotta A. Cole Nesta Lucio Gerrard Lampard Hagi Stoichkov Seedorf Okocha Batistuta Ronaldo Drogba Ze Roberto Rivaldo Litmanen Vieri Van Nistelrooy Owen Henry Figo Rui Costa ...Some of the other players I had a liking/grudging admiration for, from boyhood years and up, but this is my actual favourite XI (Mouthwatering):

A lot of people might opt for Keane in there but if you're going for balance, Makelele's game complements the other two better anyway. Edited January 3, 20169 yr by Teritus

November 15, 20168 yr Where is my Alex? Nobody has mentioned him! -----------------------  Iashin ------------------- ------Scirea ------ Beckenbauer ----- Maldini ------Conte------------Pirlo----------Davids ----------Pelè --------Cruyff-------Del Piero                             Vialli  I know, there are so many better players considering all time. In primis Maradona, Platini and Van Basten. But i think, though it's only a joke, the team above is equilibrated: technical and physical players, and first of all all of them with really good psichological components. Maybe you can substitute Vialli with Drogba (but you know, I still love him) and Conte with Lampard, Gerrard, Makelele, Tardelli or Riikaard ... but I'm sure we're all happy to see Conte!  However, for me what builds up a dream team is not only qualities of players, but the amalgama. In this sense i'm not surprised that quite nobody has mentioned Ibrahimovic or players like him, strong but egoist.  Â
November 19, 20168 yr As others have said, from players i've seen:\ Â Cech Cafu, Terry, Ferdinand, cole Maka, Lampard, Pirlo Messi, Kaka, Ronaldo Shearer Â
