June 30, 20179 yr I don't think his offensive output (games to goals contribution) is great for an 'attacking RWB' (if compared to Alves/Conti) but looks a top up and coming FB for me. It's his versatility I'm most impressed by, he may yet still develop into a top RCB for a back 3 and can also cover at LWB. Potential replacement for Ivanovic. Worth a punt for me. Spurs are apparently looking at him as a replacement for Kyle Walker. Edited June 30, 20179 yr by the special one
June 30, 20179 yr Depends if Bayern are interested for me, once they come in it signifies 2 things: A) The guy is worth a punt B) Bayern will get him
June 30, 20179 yr we already have a prospect in RWB position and his name is Aina. if we are to develop a young player i'd rather we develop one of our own. either buy WC player that will significantly improve our squad or not at all. go big or go home
June 30, 20179 yr This guy absolutely wrecked England's left hand side in the recent u21 semi-final. Thought he looked extremely classy that day. On the one hand I'd be happy to sign him because I believe he's on his way to becoming a fantastic right back/wing back, on the other hand it would be disappointing for Aina.

Aina is just 20 so there's still time for him to develop into the player we all hope he will be - Aina didn't even make the Euro U21 squad, on the other hand Toljan has impressed at Euro U21 (Germany U21 play Spain U21 tonight btw) and is starting week in week out for Hoffenheim (who finished 4th this season). Aina imho needs a loan next season. Edited June 30, 20179 yr by the special one

Sorry I wasn't aware of that. As far as I'm concerned if Aina counts as 'foreign' he isn't worth a place in the squad if that's the case? (edit: Aina still counts as homegrown despite declaring for Nigeria) Edited June 30, 20179 yr by the special one

He does have the likes of Clyne and Walker ahead of him in the England set up. Add Trippier now as well. Plus his dad is very connected to Nigeria so it didn't in fact come out of nowhere. Not everybody has to play for England. Iwobi declared for Nigeria too when he could have played for England.

True, but he if stays with us he'd presumably be off to the ACN every couple of years.... I don't think he's that great to be worth the hassle. Edited June 30, 20179 yr by the special one

At one point we had Drogba, Kalou, Mikel and Essien all going off to the ACN every couple of years and we still survived. Just saying that generally btw. Don't really care for Aina.
June 30, 20179 yr See this thread as a hot topic with loads of replies I thought we had signed someone!
July 1, 20179 yr Well he had another monster of a game last night...raiding down the right wing and throwing in brilliant crosses after crosses...let's sign him up before BM slap their lauderhausen on him...

July 31, 20178 yr So with Sandro now seemingly off the table, should we be going for this guy? Very cheap, and the board will love that. Does anyone know much about him?
