I was also impressed by Tielemans.  Unfortunate for him that he basically plays the same role as de Bruyne so he hardly sees the field.

Looks like he could be a great player, he only signed for Monaco in 2017 for about 24 mill.

Buy him and loan Baka back to them for cheap could be a good deal.  Add to our Belgian contingent.  Course this is just me concocting random transfer ideas in my head.

Spain didn't play to his strengths at all. They essentially played 5 central midfielders and just tippy tapped it around to each other, forgetting the score that counts is goals not possession.

A few players caught my eye so far; Pavard looks a very good young right back, a position we need to strengthen, would like to see us sign him from stuttgart if he was a reasonable fee. Perisic, who I've always thought was a great player, has looked good as well. Thought Tielemans looked like a good central midfielder when he played for belgium as well

Would have been better of playing Cesc in a false 9 than Costa by the way they play.

Stubborn to a way of play that doesn't suit the player they have on the basis of what it done nearly a decade ago.

Exactly. The best Spanish teams under Aragones and Del Bosque didn't just play tiki taka they had width and speed at the front as well. Pep's best teams had the same.

They've been punished for having no pace and no dribblers.

Liked the look of that Costa fella upfront for Spain...think he'd do well in EPL...

Don't get why everyone is so hyped about Pavard. I've watched a lot of Bundesliga games last season, and Pavard was decent - and primarily played CB. It was a bit of a chok that he was chosen for the final squad, but looking at the options he'd seem like a natural choice for France. He's intelligent, but really does not have the ideal attributes for a right back. He's not very fast - his offensive runs and attacking positioning could easily be better. He doesn't seem like a strong fella either. He scored a great goal - good for him. Great technique and control of the ball - but that doesn't mean you're worth £40M. 

Even Bayern - who've seemingly been after him for months (as a CB option) - refuses to pay the what Stuttgart demands at the moment. Rumour has it that he'll be available for a cut price next summer. 

Pavard sort of reminds me of Rugani in a way. He's a bit younger, but covers several positions in the back line - just like Rugani. And just like the issue with Rugani, we already have three other players, with the exact same attributes: AC, Dave and Rüdiger, who can cover both the central defense, as well as the right back. 

Great dribbler with a strong left foot.
