League Cup Final 2019

Featured Replies

Strange how Man City have been allocated more tickets than us: 32,506 against our 31,600. We are the bigger club after all!

Reading their website, I was impressed with their enlightened approach regarding loyalty points (or lack of them) for junior supporters. I really can't imagine Chelsea being as sensitive or perceptive or giving a fluck to be honest.

We appreciate that there may be a significant difference in ticket points between junior supporters (under 17) and their parent(s) or guardian(s). A limited allocation of tickets will be made available to 2018/19 Platinum, Gold or 93:20 Seasoncard holders registered on the League Cup Scheme aged under 17, for purchase together with a qualifying adult Seasoncard holder. At the point where the adult qualifies, they can also purchase ONE junior† ticket regardless of the junior’s ticket point status.

I would have expected the allocation to have been on average home gates with a ratio applied from this.

As the figures are so close perhaps direction of travel has been taken into account and it is just how those seat sections line up on one end as opposed to the other.

Yes, when we have west side of stadium we have more tickets, it's just configuration of stadium and segregation, might find City don't sell out any way, mind you whether they have a few hundred more tickets or not, if we can't out sing that lot then we might as well give up.

Might explain why they have been given the West Side.

Hope I can get a ticket. Compared to other clubs the way our club allocate tickets appears much harder. I believe there has been a concerted effort to try and sanitise our support. Another one of several conspiracy theories connected to Super Chelsea.

The away ticket allocation thing, in general, is a bit of a tricky one to figure out. There is definitely a much tougher line on loyalty points for aways than I remember.

On the one hand, it seems fair that those who are going to all the games (including the midweek games god knows where) get rewarded, but I also think our away ends recently have been much older and unfortunately a bit tamer than what I remember...

People in their 20's might only be able to afford a couple trips away a year, and I think the way it is currently does make it seem like a bit of a closed shop

With regards to the League Cup it is possible that some people found it easier to get tickets for the League Cup games. They turn up, get behind the team and help the team progress through the rounds.

When it comes to the final some of these people might not be able to attend because they don’t meet the points criteria.

I am not implying this is relevant to me because I hope I will have enough points for the final. I anticipate a similar scenario for the FA cup. It’s like we need to respect the fact that some fans attend unglamorous games and then lose out on the finals.

My original post highlighted the fact that City are trying to encourage families in the anticipation that junior members might not have the same points total as their parent.

For example, if the League Cup final tickets drop to 50 points for Chelsea members, a father could claim one for himself but not his son if the kid has only 30 points. City appear to be attempting to address this problem which should be applauded.  We might not always be good and need to build our young support and get them attending games. It might also support your theory that away from home our fan base is looking older.

Personally I think there should be cup focused benefits,

Would be great if a fan who went to each home leg was guaranteed a ticket to the next round. All the way through to the final. If we are allocated 30k+ tickets then that should be simple enough to do. Maybe limit it to 10k fans or something.

I say this as someone who only ever goes to the cup games.

Thanks, it says Monday 3 February but it should read February 4.

If I make mistakes like this in the workplace I get it in the neck ...I worry that sometimes I am too harsh on the club's admin team.

This is something I've been thinking about recently, because of work commitments I haven't been able to make most weekend games but have mid week, subsequently have been able to see every minute of our Carabao Cup run including Liverpool and Tottenham away (thanks to @chiblue) but because of the lack of loyalty points will probably miss out on the Final. Which will be REALLY annoying having seen it the whole way through so far.

Its not unheard of either. We had a champions league season ticket when we first got in in 99. I had one myself!

Memo to @The Swan

after Sunday's demolition by Citeh maybe the FA is having a bit of pity on CFC fans

Nice to think that someone outside of the club likes us even if it is out of pity. After me boasting that we sold out our allocation it looks like we are not shifting these extra tickets. I predict we will beat City 2.1 at Wembley.

Well we might have a gutless team and a manager whose maybe clueless, but there is nothing nicer than a tap on the door and your postie delivers your Wembley tickets, well I'm up for it and know exactly want I'm doing, just hope the team and manager are come the 24th
