Merson ?

He must be on drugs

He was in his car, unshaven, opinionated but as I say he didn’t say two years which as someone else pointed out 2 years has been rumoured he, Merson, went straight to three years.

I've heard lots of rumours about a transfer ban but three years - blimey!!

It's ok , we've got academy players ready to play for us, like in the last transfer ban....

I mean academy players ready to be sold for us, unlike in the last transfer ban.

The owners won't care , we can still sell everyone, the ban is only on buying players

You have to realise these "sh*t" players who aren't good enough, have been bought to be good enough in 2, 3, 4, or 5 years time. We may well look back and see the mass transfers, as a stroke of genius.

It’s very difficult to come to a conclusion without having in depth knowledge of the facts rather than speculation. That idiot who is always on Talk Sport is speculating as much as the next person but he is saying things as if they are facts when quite often he is just adding 2+2 + an unknown number and reaching an answer.
Like you I find it unlikely that RA will have agreed to speak to them, supply information to them or certainly not worry about them.

As I keep pointing out the PL will have to be 100% confident that their evidence is strong enough and even if the decide it is that still will have to be assessed by a trio of highly trained individuals who might or might not agree and even then another trio who again might agree or not.

I am sticking by my gut feeling that this matter will be swept up into a voluntary settlement simply because all parties really will want a line drawn under this.

Merson said something today , something that struck me because it might be rubbish but he was suggesting that we are going to get a 3 year transfer ban so our transfer activity to date may be viewed as genius.

"Merson said" with his fingers crossed behind his back.

He hates us.. 🙂

Very possibly so, but i've expected a long transfer ban for quite some time, i suspect Clearlake had talks at the time they self reported, so were expecting it, and with PSR and FFP, have had to go about things the way they have, to be able to stock pile several seasons transfers to cover the ban. I believe a transfer ban only stops signing players, i think you can still sell, but not replace.

Mate , we've got an academy where youngsters from a very early age are coached for years to play Premiership football hopefully for Chelsea.

We know how very few make it.

So what's the chance that buying youngsters from abroad and loaning them to bang average teams playing in Leagues that are nowhere near PL standard, that they will develop into first team Chelsea players ?

Some of our loanees don't even get much playing time .

We all want our youngsters to develop into great players.

We all want them to be Chelsea first team players.

We don't want them sold if they become good/ great players.

Anyway, have a good evening,

Come on you BLUES!

Cheers again bud, and I agree, i do think the outcome will be some type of settlement and/or transfer ban (I think 3 years is a bit harsh though).

The one thing that worries me is the bit in bold...it still leaves it down to the mushy bit inbetween a desk and the chair. These ppl passing judgement have not been blind and deaf and are surely aware of the news. As human beings they can be influenced by the rubbish and exaggerations in the media.

I don't mind getting the punishment, if due, but I worry about its bias, their bias. Not only towards the severity (or lack of) to the "crimes" but towards the club and especially the previous owner.

If that makes any sense mate...sry it's been a long arse day.

Carragher going to say anything on Liverpool selling their youngsters?

That is Van den Berg, Bobby Clark, and Carvalho all sold.

Fk no...

we are Chelsea. Only the stuff we do is wrong.

Enemies of Football don't you know. 🤨

Nah, we’re only a threat to ourselves.

It’s kind of odd the press and pundits aren’t actually praising and encouraging it. Why would they actually want us to be well run and god forbid successful?

I dont get how we can get charged and transfer banned for PSR and FFP “breaches” or things that happened before PSR and FFP existed.

is that not kinda Orwellian? Like issuing a speeding ticket for going over 30 last week when they just put in the school zone limit this week

Seeing as we have set about nullifying a transfer ban, and therefore the punishment, it could be that the punishment will be tailored to hit us iin another way?

The PL won't want to look daft if they dish out a punishment that they know in advance that we have been working  to make ineffective.

Who knows?

I thought it's more about undeclared payments etc

And Harvey Blair

FACT CHECK Carvalho was bought from Fulham season before last so not from their academy

it’s my understanding that in signing Hazard & Willy club made secret payments to their representatives to ensure rival clubs looking to sign them would not. Now we know why Willy left 3 point lane and signed for us instead. This gave Chelsea a competitive advantage and potentially breached PSR. UEFA have dealt with the matter and Clearfake paid them a mult million pound fine. In EPL the bungs offshore and potential PSR breach carry sanctions of fines, more likely points deductions, a transfer ban and the most extreme sanction is expulsion from the league ie relegation. Prem say verdict coming soon.

Then surely, keeping players like Trev and Connor who bleed for the club would have made more sense than sining risky unproven talent? I dont even know where to go with the recruitment anymore. Still feel like we'll sign a few more.

Ok but unless I’m very wrong, PSR wasn’t in effect at the time of those payments, so surely you can’t run afoul of rules that didn’t yet exist??? None of this makes a lick of sense to me, like pay a fine for “illegal payments” that’s all well and good but anything beyond that seems pretty flimsy on a legal basis if PSR didn’t exist…
