August 9, 20214 yr Sorry lite the blue touch paper for meĀ just read that poor old Jack Grealish cried as he left his boyhood club, just to outĀ Ā do Messi clearly 𤪠Really ? Maybe they were upset at leaving ? Bless them but headline worthy ?Ā Both of them went because the club they love so much couldnāt afford them the mercenary bastards ! Remember one club loyal scouser Stevie me was coming to Chelsea until the club he loved so much upped there offer š Ā they say Chelsea is all about the money ! š Ā Ā
August 10, 20214 yr Mercenary bastards, I'm sure none of us here would ever change employers for a massively improved salary and career opportunities.

Such a bunch of loveable rogues aren't they ?š¤

Unfortunately that won't be such an amount that I'd be crying all the way to the bankĀ BTW I turned down an opportunity as you describe once, I didn't like the atmosphere of that company.Ā

I've learned the hard way that it's horrible to be in a working place that makes you unhappy. It would probably different when you're unemployed. Then at least having a job would be preferable, I think. What would you do @Bob stark?

That's a big reason I didn't join in the Willian bashing after he covered Conte's face with trophies. If the latter was even half as unbearable to work withĀ as reported that seasonĀ I think his reaction was mild if anything.

In my last job in the Civil Service the atmosphere was terrible. We were being privatised and only a small number retained.Ā I along with most others, took Voluntary Redundancy. It took me a few months to find employment again. It was, however, such a great relief to leave that office. Ā I had been a Civil Servant for over 20 years and enjoyed it apart from that last place.Ā Bit off topic I accept. Ā

And I'm not a fan of Grealish but he's a boyhood Villa fan so are his family so he was probably upset about leaving them I'm sure if me or you played for Chelsea we'd be upset to leave regardless of the money we'd be getting.

Oh stop being so understanding and reasonable! This is a rich player-bashing thread, get with the programme already!
August 11, 20214 yr I think the thing a lot of football fans dont realise/understand is at some point football becomes a job for these players and their attachment to a club diminishes way below that of a fan.Ā
