Could be, but there are a lot of other factors to consider. 

Average quality in depth. Long/Draining season. New ownership uncertainty. Nothing left to play for in the league. Players with uncertain futures.

The first definition up here in Scotland is something that disgusts, or causes dislike. E. G. his attitude fair scunners me. The second usage describes the actual feeling of disgust or dislike.

Actually this is what we should have done last summer. We needed a marquee signing in that midfield. How can we go into a football season with that kind of midfield?

Most of the goals we conceeded against Arsenal were because we were playing badly in the midfield and therefore we gave our defense too much work to do.

There is a problem, but it has nothing to do with who has memberships or season tickets (or nationality for that matter).

Perhaps that is the point you were trying to make, but if so, the irony of you having a dig at match going supporters while doing so, is blinding. 

I'm having a dig at people who would blame foreigners (non-english) people for the poor atmosphere. Wasn't ever the case. Just an excuse to blame so called JCLs for our poor support.

Don't recall seeing that abuse recently if at all on this forum.

I do know fans that have been season ticket holders for years cancelling after 20 yrs or so due to family commitments yet guess that often happens.  With higher fuel expenses might get a few more this season bailing out.

It can't help not having the non- season ticket holder fans turn up who are maybe more motivated to sing as they don't go frequently.

So our defense if only good when they have no work to do? Any defense can look good in that case.

Well we have seen even with a extra body pur keeper and defenders are just not at the same level as Liverpools and cities, bar Silva.

As long as that is the case it won't matter what the midfield does, you can't hide your defenders for 90 minutes, Sarri tried and he couldn't do it.

Not sure who that is aimed at then, as I am not aware of "non-english" people being blamed for the poor atmosphere. 

Tourists and day trippers who aren't Chelsea fans, and therefore don't know the songs, are needless to say not going to help the atmosphere. Success attracts these types. Nationality is irrelevant.
