Never forget the joy opposition fans had when we were sanctioned!!!!

Featured Replies

I saw this on Reddit and thought I would post it here. I maintain we overpaid for Enzo, Caicedo and a few others but just remember what the club and fans endured when we got sanctioned and the joy opposition fans and certain PUNDITS(spit spit) had.

Enjoy this moment, rub in their faces be as PETTY as you can be, but stay respectful!!!

Sure we are going down a high-risk path and it may come back to bite us but ENJOY the moment.

Screw them all!!!

WE ARE CHELSEA!!!

r/chelseafc - Never forget

There wasn't a fan from any club that felt any sympathy or wasn't wishing for our downfall. Every football fan across the country would have celebrated had we been relegated or ceased to exist as a football club, a lot of them were wishing for it. It was more than football rivalry, they wanted the club dead.

City fans often complain about how hard they have it as fans, but they haven't gotten anywhere near the same hate that Chelsea has received since 2003. Football fans across the country fell for the "Chelsea runied football" bullsh*t that the media put out back then and they have never let it die.

Every so often I get a reminder of how much we are hated, and when we were sanctioned, it was the biggest reminder of all.

@El regreso I agree with overpaid comment. I was really against the purchases. I don't know where we will get value from the regular European and British Football environment for any player worth their salt as clubs have seen we won't hesitate to spend if we really want the player.

I think it risks the financial stability of the club in future if things don't go to plan and believe such expensive purchases should be to finish up the build not right at the start.

Also,I should caveat I am as inexperienced, probably less than Boehly at these things so what do I know.

Fingers crossed, it doesn't blow up in our faces but looking into the future, it's a bit uncomfortable to realise what will likely happen if things don't work out.

A massive part of football is banter with rival fans be it family members friends or work colleagues!!

Biiiiiig difference between banter and moaning about being the laughing stock or whipping boy for the rest of the world. Case in point the recent thread (your own?) on how we shouldn't forget how everybody wanted to see us fold or at the very least demoted to league 13 when Abramovich had to sell. WTF! This isn't the attack on Pearl Harbor or something like that!

Why care about what non-Blues feel about our club?

because we're human and thats what humans do. they care. We may say (some of us anyway) that we don't give a sh#t when we lose a 'meaningless' friendly but deep down I think to varying degrees we do.

I’ve only had 40 years on this spinning rock, but have learned the high road is the path best taken. It just makes the internal joy all the sweeter as things come together.

We’re not as hated as some other clubs, Liverpool and Utd are the most hated by far, if they were sanctioned the whole country would have a street party.
