Martin's record as a manager. As has been said by many people, why was he appointed in the first place. As for who is appointed next, Gerrard has been suggested. Not sure that he would want to go back especially as it seemed he fell out with the previous board. I guess that he would stipulate that he wants to do things his way. There in lies a problem with football across all clubs. Who has the final say in which players are bought. Defence needs to be sorted out and that is strange when Rangers have two experienced defenders in Tavernier and Souttar. Who ever is appointed must understand what Rangers is about. Barry Ferguson did and perhaps he should have stayed. The club now needs to be very thorough and careful about who is appointed or they will face the wrath of fans again.

Hes another "system" manager, no idea how to actually coach players or effect games, just has his way of playing and if it doesnt work then its the players fault.

Correct. Exposed at Villa and failed in the desert league. Wouldn't know a tactic if it bit him. If the reports are serious, this Rangers hierarchy has a death wish.

Interesting. Not sure the bookies can always be relied upon. As I mentioned above I'm not sure Gerrard will return. Frank has a soft spot for Rangers and he was given a great reception from Rangers fans when Chelsea played a friendly at Ibrox in 2007 but will he want to leave Coventry at this time. I don't think Clarke will go to Rangers as there have been disagreements between him and the fans in the past. Ferguson to return? The board needs to get this right and one of the questions they need to ask is: what does playing for, supporting and managing Rangers mean.FB_IMG_1759754393362.jpg

It’s Dyche for me the more thought I give it. This season is a write off, you don’t pull those points back in the SPL. He’s proven at multiple clubs how much he can do with so little, it’s a mammoth task for him and it’s not going to be the sexiest football in the world but for now regrouping is the main aim.

I feel for Frank, he’s got a real affinity for the club but to leave Coventry now with the projection he has them on would be a huge mistake. I really want to see him do what he should’ve done with Derby and take Cov up before making any big career choices, really shut the doubters up.

Have to agree with you about writing-off this season although it would be great to be proved wrong. Would be a great excuse to get drunk. As you say he's proven at a load of clubs and won't take any crap. The football won't be pretty but you know what you'll get.

As for Frank he's doing a great job at Coventry and did a great job at Derby. It was nice to see him at Chelsea but I think he let his heart rule his head. He is still young and has got years ahead of him. As you say he has plenty of time to make big career moves.

I'll contact two of my cousins who are ST holders at Rangers and ask who they think should be the next manager.

Gerrard turns it down. Who will they turn to now? Feels like a caretaker appointment is very likely.

Seems he changed his mind. Interested to know why. Blessing in disguise. Dyche has said he isn't interested. Danny Röhl now a contender. A young talent, did a great job at S. Wednesday under dire off-field circumstances, dragged them out of the cellar. Will they take a risk? Knowledge of Scottish football seems to be a factor, not entirely sure why. It ain't that complicated.

According to the BBC, Gerrard declined the job because of the club's now set up including a director of football. He wants total control, pretty much as he had last time. FFS. Dodged a bullet indeed.

I used to think Villa were a mediocre team until that clown left and realised that Emery wasn't a miracle worker.

If I don't post on here for a while it's because I've become the new Rangers manager.

You would be the obvious choice, as you've consistently done well in the Shed End Prediction League. Give us a wave from the bench, will you? And we'll see you again in 6 weeks.

I appreciate that vote of confidence @Valerie 😂
