Kevin Keegan has died aged 75.

Terrific player and athlete (remember well his performances on the TV program Superstars), and 2-time European Footballer of the Year in the late 70s.

His Newcastle team played good football under him as well.

Real Shame. Have fond memories of watching Keegan back in the '70's. Great little player and very passionate and who can forget his dust up with Billy Bremner in the Charity Shield against Leeds. Anyone who punches a dirty Leeds player deserves respect.

He had an eye for talent... how the league would have been if he had won it with Newcastle. That team was exciting. Good memories as the England manager, cheers Mr Keegan.

Many moons ago I went to a charity event in Gourock where Kevin Keegan and Doddie Weir were the main attractions. Pair of them were first class lads. Utterly down to earth and self deprecating. Keegan ripped the piss out of himself for his Fergie rant and had time for absolutely everyone at the event regardless if they were putting their hand deep in their pocket for the charity or not.

Definitely one of the good guys and for us older fellas a reminder of the days when we didn't feel so utterly detached from the players on the pitch.

I think it says a lot that back in the early to mid '70's, me and my mates were all either Chelsea, West Ham, Fulham, Arsenal etc, yet when we were playing football in the playground or over the park, we all wanted to be Kevin Keegan.

Another of the good guys gone.

Always find it strange that hes hardly ever mentioned when people talk about legendary strikers, he won the ballon d`or twice i a row, an incredible achievement for any payer but even more so for an English player.
