August 9, 200717 yr If true, which it blatantly is, then although I'm not a bitter person (complete lie) I hope he gets injured and has a sh*t season for them. This whole process has p*ssed me off no end, and his lack of loyalty to a club that has given him chance after chance to show his first season form again, despite the endless injuries, leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. Good f*cking riddance.
August 9, 200717 yr This leaves Joe as the last footballer in the Chelsea Athletics Club (Chief Executive - J. Mourinho) How long before he's gone?
August 9, 200717 yr This leaves Joe as the last footballer in the Chelsea Athletics Club (Chief Executive - J. Mourinho) How long before he's gone? Liam, you can hardly blame Jose for robben leaving, it seemed clear that he has had his head turned and pushed for this move!! Also do you not rat kalou as some one of simmerler ilk? PS im with you tim... im pretty disgusted by it, like ive said else where he has never really i understand duffer and guddy, the gave there all and had decent reasons for wanting out but robben cant claim either of those
August 9, 200717 yr Nothing on BBC Sport or Sky Sports webpages on this. Interesting analysis here though: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 90,00.html Last season we won 16 out of 21 matches with Robben and only 8 of 17 without him, averaging just under 2 goals per game with him and just under 1.5 goals a game without him. I really don't want him to leave!
August 9, 200717 yr Maybe Robben just wanted a new challenge? Real are the biggest club in the world, and he already had 2 Premierships, 2 CC and 1 FA cup... If he does feel he?s been treated unfairly or anything like that then sod him - we have all been more than patient with him. I?d rather he stay and have a blinding season... but clearly, thats not going to happen now.
August 9, 200717 yr This has looked inevitable for weeks, and there's no point keeping players who obviously don't want to be here. Any news on how much we got for him?
August 9, 200717 yr Gutted to be honest. Not just because he was and is a special player, but because of the lack of respect he's shown the club and it's supporters. Also leaving it 2 days before the start of the season FFS, weither his fault or not is a joke and must be disruptive. As mentioned by Liam, not really to excited about letting one of the flare players leave the club. So far Jose has replaced Duff, Eidur and Robben with the ilk of SWP, Sheva, and I don't wnat to even mention Ballack. And some wonder why were labelled boring. We have let player's go who could do breath taking things with a ball and replaced them with 'athlete's' as mentioned above.
August 9, 200717 yr I am also gutted, not so much in the fact that we are losing a fantastic talent (ok, ok I know he sits on the bench, falls over when Big Ben chimes 4 etc etc) but no one can deny that on his day, when the mood takes him, he cant change a game at the blink of an eye. what gets me however, is the fact that he wants to leave,......why? I thought we were one of the top sides in Europe. I thought we were a team that are going to win trophies. I thought players were queing up to get a chance to play for us , not leave us. I must be wrong. perhaps it's a personality thing between Robben and Jose and to much has been said and so one must go. gues we will never know, and I bet he goes for an un-disclosed fee.
August 9, 200717 yr If it is true then I hope we've got a decent amount for him. He's a great player on his day but is far too injury prone. I remember him coming on against Blackburn (I think it was) in the 04/05 season and being amazed by him, I thought he'd become a Chelsea legend. He hasn't shown any loyalty to the club (if Star's post yesterday is true) and seems unwilling to engage in the physical side of the game. Plus he has a penchant for diving, so he'll be right at home in La Liga.

I really don't want him to leave! I was under the impression his effect on the side was minimal etc.. bah. I hope we got/ get a good fee for him, but this is an annoying transfer. I think he'll be great for madrid, and benefit from the undeniably less physical (though the gap isn't as big as you might believe- spain has it's share of hatchet men) league, but also from a side where when he attacks, he won't be doing it alone. that part is the key IMO. as for drenthe- who cares? people getting over-excited about a fullback playing out of position in an uder 21 competition.
August 9, 200717 yr what gets me however, is the fact that he wants to leave,......why? I think Real Madrid have said to him something along the lines of... Arjen, mi hijo, juntate con nosotros. Somos un club de futbol, no un club atletico.

And that's almost a word for word translation
August 9, 200717 yr (ok, ok I know he sits on the bench, falls over when Big Ben chimes 4 etc etc) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/6938143.stm It should be safe to keep him at least for another month then
August 9, 200717 yr I think Real Madrid have said to him something along the lines of...Arjen, mi hijo, juntate con nosotros. Somos un CIRCO de futbol, no un club atletico. There. Correction done.
August 9, 200717 yr i'm sure i heard somewhere that robben was waiting to see if jose stayed in the job or not and if he did then he would want to go as the two of them haven't had the best relationship...mind you the eagerness in which his dad has been talking to madrid seems to rule that out...his talent may be a loss, but his attitude won't be and this from a guy who defended him more than most!

Will be officially announced tomorrow. No, it's nothing to do with what I want. As far as I'm concerned, if he really want's to leave, he can f**k off. Everything I hear is that Real claim he's already signed, Chelsea say no official approach has been made. As you say, an announcement will be made tomorrow - but then Real were going to make announce the signing this afternoon - we'll see. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that I'm keeping an open mind.
August 9, 200717 yr I don't really think disloyalty comes into it- it's the way we play that doesn't really suit him- he can be great for real in an attacking lineup
