Away to Sunderland

Another must win to stay in touch. Can't see Manu or Arse dropping points this weekend. Lucky Derby get to play Manu this weekend.

I want to see the same side, maybe with Belleti and also Drogba replacing Anelka. The suggestion of putting Essien back at right back also appeals although he no doubt would hate it.

Can't see why Mikel isn't even on the bench at the moment. Maybe Sheva to get a run a sub? Like to see if he's got anything to offer. We still need something special to make up ground and time is running out.

and considering we're near the end of the season we should try to pick up as many points as possible. Win against the "easy" teams so when Arsenal and United come up, w'll be right up there with them giving pressure. What did Arsenal have, a six point gap a few weeks ago and we've got a game less and 5 points behind them.

i posted elsewhere that his case v lynn was about to finish. i wonder if that has anything to do with it.

This should be another 3 point banker.

Sunderland are not as poor as Derby (no one is as poor as Derby) but Sunderland are still emanently beatable home or away.

I expect a tougher game than Wednesday obviously but a comfortable win in the end.

If we can't beat Sunderland with the squad we have available now then frankly we don't deserve to win the league.

Man Utd are not going to slip up. Arsenal I'm not so sure with them but they should beat Boro - they need to really to and they know it.

We need to get the points in now against the minnows whilst we await the big fish a little later on.

I agree it's a must win but I don't epect it to be easy.

They have a few players who can cause problems. Murphy is improving all the time and Drogbalite has the odd good day. In defence Evans and Bardsley are premiership standard and the goalkeeper is decent. They are also have a good home record.

It's in the centre of midfield they have nothing. We should dominate here which if we take a chance or two should be enough.

I'm a little nervous about this one but I think its a must win and I think we'll be up to it...I'd guess the team will be about the same as wed.'s but to be honest I think this would be a great game to try out a 4 4 2 see how anelka and drogs connect up front and take the game straight to Sunderland demoralizing them

with a few early goals...3-0 to the chels

Clearly a must win game and one we should take 3 comfortable points away from however, like Liam, I think this will be a tougher game than maybe some are expecting. Sunderland have been struggling to score recently but I don't expect them to come out on the defensive and I certainly don't expect them to gift us the middle of the park the way Derby did - they will have a lot more grit and determination than that.

We are still very much in this title race so I don't think this is the time to start playing Drogba and Anelka up front. If we want to go down the route of playing with two up front then we can save the 'practice' for pre-season or when (fingers crossed it dosn't come to this) we are out of contention for the title. Neither Anelka or Drogba have impressed for a while now so I don't particularly care about keeping either of them happy via team selection. I say stick with one up front and pick Drogba.

Roy Keane mentioned the Barnsley game in the pre match interview.

So expect us to be hassled for the ball non stop.

Would love to see Drogba and Anelka up front again, and i mean up front, not out left (Anelka).

Essien--Carvalho--Terry--A.Cole

---Ballack--Lampard---J.Cole---

This will be a tough one I reckon, Sunderland are a decent side at home. Any sort of win will do for us atm as we have to keep the pressure up on Arsenal and Utd.

Bit nervous about this one, always feel anxious about sunderland ever since they were a bogey side for us around the millenium. Need to score early to make sure we can control the game. In favour of an attacking formation rather than blocking up the midfield.

no anelka? smack_head.gif

I can't see why that upsets you when your team had Sheva starting and Drogba and Anelka on the bench?

Surely you only expected one of the two to be brought on icon_wink.gif
