Posted June 7, 200816 yr I expect most of you saw Portugal beat Turkey 2-0 tonight. What did you think of Bosingwa ? I can see he will fit into our team with his strength and presence on the ball, like a taller version of Essien, hope he can sort out some decent crosses from the right wing, something weve been missing for a while now.
June 7, 200816 yr i thought he looked excellent. solid defending, really good going forward. looked very athletic and strong. dare i say it, very much a jose type of player.
June 7, 200816 yr Looked quality. He was quick, strong, read the game and was prominent in attack but they will have tougher matches - even Ricky was bursting through!
June 7, 200816 yr What did you think of Bosingwa ? He looked solid, nothing more, nothing less. Faded in the second half, but looks like he can link up well with a winger (We could do with a pacy winger in front of him anyway!-not SWP...)
June 8, 200816 yr had a shot forced into the side netting in the first two minutes! An attacking full back, with A Cole on the other side..... very much lends itself to overlapping wingers, or even the 4-42 diamond formation Scott
June 8, 200816 yr i was impressed he showed good pace, good contol and was quite confident, and he got forward quite well i thought paulo out on the left did ok to
June 8, 200816 yr id like to see him up against someone a bit tastier before i get too excited but he looked solid enough, very confident with the ball.
June 8, 200816 yr Crossed the ball with either foot as well which is pretty damned handy as he can go either inside or outside the opposing full back. Gives him more options and puts an element of doubt into a defenders mind.

Oh imagine the possibilities...
June 11, 200816 yr looked tidy enough in defence and really got forward well keeping a lot of width. look forward to seeing him again tonight. lahm, everyone knows, IMO a shame he has to play on the right, I personally think a real feature of his play is the threatening to cut inside and great crossing with his left.
June 11, 200816 yr reminds me a little or serginho the way he gets forward (i.e. a lot, and very quickly), but also he does leave a big gap behind him. so far he's not been exposed though.
June 12, 200816 yr reminds me a little or serginho the way he gets forward (i.e. a lot, and very quickly), but also he does leave a big gap behind him. so far he's not been exposed though. We need players with courage to attack and I think Bosingwa does it well. Belletti does it as well. Paolo on the other hand doesn't take on players and passes a sure pass to a team mate. It is good to put Paolo on when we try to keep a one goal lead in the end of the game. Anyway, Bosingwa looks like a good deal and I'm glad we have him.
June 17, 200816 yr The Chelsea hating guys at work seem to really rate this guy, which is promising
June 20, 200816 yr Things I've learnt from Bosingwa over the tournemtn: He's stupidly fast ... and has unbelievable acceleration He's got an amazing cross Good vision ... and not a bad shot either He cannot defend to save his life So, is there a chance he could be playing on the right wing for us next season?
June 20, 200816 yr He sent 2 crosses in to create clear cut chances for before the first German goal, at this level one of those 2 chances should have been converted. had Portugal took the lead with one of those chances, we would be talking about what he brilliant player he is. He will let few guys get past him, but he will create a lot more goal scoring chances for us. Contrary to most views here, I think he will be a pretty good player for us. If we compare him with Paulo, this is a guy doesn't let anyone get past him when he is at his best, but he never cross the half way line..
June 21, 200816 yr I don't think we will see him as a right winger and i'm not sure that would be a good idea anyway. However, we might see him in a wingback formation.
